Harry Styles Has a Crush on Nina Dobrev: Should They Date?

Harry Styles and Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev (Elena) broke up with her Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) back in early May, and the 24-year-old actress has said she’s in  “no rush” to start dating again. However, that doesn’t mean guys won’t start trying to get with her. In fact, one very famous celebrity guy is making no effort to hide the fact that he definitely has a bit of a thing for Nina.
During an August 27 interview with New York Live, Harry Styles admitted that he has the hots for Nina. Yes, the 19-year-old British boy band star has a crush on the newly-single TVD hottie. So is it fate? We’ll let you decide.
What do you think: Should Nina give dating a member of One Direction a try? Or are you happy with seeing her stay single for a while?
Honestly, we’re just fine with Nina embracing the single life. After all, she and Ian didn’t break up too long ago. Granted, their breakup was amicable, and they’re still friends — which is nice, considering they see each other at work every single day.
Rumors have already emerged that Ian is dating a model (he denies it) and that Nina is dating her friend Julianne Hough’s brother, Derek (she denies that one, too). Nope, both of these two appear to be single for now. Sorry, world. You’ll just have to wait.

Ian Somerhalder “Not Thrilled” About The Originals — Does He Have a Point?

The Vampire Diaries vs. The Originals Casts
We’re not the only ones mourning the loss of the Original family on The Vampire Diaries Ian Somerhalder isn’t happy about it either!
That’s not to say he isn’t excited for showrunner Julie Plec and former co-star Joseph Morgan, but ultimately, he is “not thrilled” about the idea. "They're going to be taking these characters that mean so much to our show,” he reportedly told Digital Spy. “I'm insanely happy for everyone, but I'm not thrilled. Not that I mind sharing, I just don't want to lose all these amazing actors on our show."
He continued: "Who are the other people who are gonna be coming on the show? Are they gonna be good? Because it's The CW, and everyone has to be pretty, and there aren't a lot of pretty people that can act well.”
There’s a lot to digest here, but the main point stands: Can The Vampire Diaries survive without the Originals? The answer is, yes, of course Season 5 can survive without the Mikaelsons — but will it be as compelling?
Klaus dealing with his dysfunctional family turmoil was one of the more intriguing storylines of Seasons 2 and 3. (Because how long can we really watch Elena choose between Stefan and Damon?) It introduced us to even more compelling characters — his honorable older brother, Elijah, his stubborn and tragically beautiful younger sister Rebekah, and for a short while, his aggressive baby brother Kol (RIP). Their complex dynamics may have been rooted in deep mythology and tragic family history, but ultimately, each Mikaelson just wanted to be loved.
Now, the Mikaelson family drama always seemed a bit separate, and a bit darker, than the happenings in Mystic Falls, which is why it makes total sense for Julie Plec and co. to give them their own series. But by taking the three most spellbinding characters away from TVD, where does that leave Season 5?
With a slew of new faces headed to Mystic Falls, we understand where Ian is coming from, and we’re nervous too. It’s not going to be easy to fill the emotional void left by the Mikaelsons. Plus, could anyone bicker and snark like Klaus and Rebekah? (Well, except for Damon, obviously.)
Only time will tell, TVD fans! While we have hope for Season 5, we know it’s going to take some time to adjust to a Klaus-less season. But here’s hoping the Mikaelsons find what they’re looking for in New Orleans.
Are you excited for Season 5, TVD fans? Or are you skeptical like Ian? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re most looking forward to this season.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Behind the Scenes: Elena’s Evolution (VIDEO) PT. 2 of 2

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Behind the Scenes: Elena’s Evolution (VIDEO) PT. 1 of 2

Elena Gilbert’s Senior Quote
Fans of Nina Dobrev's acting skills should check out this featurette from The Vampire DiariesSeason 4 DVD set, “The Evolution of Elena Gilbert.”
This 8-minute featurette showcases Elena's journey from human to vampire, and features character insights from executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries, as well as observations from Candice Accola and Nina herself!

Julie starts the video off by saying, “The decision to turn Elena into a vampire meant a lot of things. It meant taking your heroine and turning her into a creature that could potentially be evil and it meant taking a human character and turning her into a supernatural character, in addition to the doppelganger, which already exists. So it launched a challenge for Nina Dobrev, which was thrilling to all of us as writers. And equally thrilling, for her, as an actress.” No doubt! We don’t know she keeps all her characters and personalities straight, but we’re impressed.

And what about that traumatic transition? Julie added, “We knew we didn’t want it to be an easy journey for her. I think some of our audience would have loved that. They would have preferred it if day 2 she woke up and life was an endless party and we were having all the fun in the world. But our love for Elena and our protection of her as our heroine; we wanted to show the cautionary tale attached to vampirism. It’s not wish fulfillment, it’s a curse.”

Nina also addresses what it was like to play the new Elena, saying, “As a newbie vampire now, it’s not always fun. Because Elena’s experience as a vampire isn’t fun and games. It heightened all her emotions and her feelings, which were sorrow and despair. As an actress is gives me a lot to do, because I get to do this full range of emotions.”

And we love this insight from Candice: “I love watching Elena, who usually has it so together, finally not have it together. The whole idea of turning her humanity off? I think it’s kind of the most human we’ve seen her. She’s finally getting angry. She’s finally mad, and she’s finally really rebelling against this idea of what she should be feeling.”

Wow. We never thought of it that way! But she’s right … Elena was kind of predictable and concerned with acting like “the good girl” before she became a vamp. And now, all bets are off. Humanity or not, we like vampire Elena! Especially when she’s heating up the screen with Damon.

Bring on Season 5! The hot “Delena” action cannot get here soon enough.

Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Admits That “Playing Damon is Brutal”

Ian Somerhalder in The Vampire Diaries Season 4
While fans love the on-screen bad boy that Ian Somerhalder portrays on the hit CW show The Vampire Diaries, the sexy actor reveals that sometimes playing brooding vamp Damon Salvatore can be a little “brutal.”
“Don’t for a second think it’s always cotton candy,” he told Digital Spy. “Sometimes it really hurts, and a lot of stuff that Damon goes through is super cathartic for me as an individual. It’s not always pretty — it stirs up stuff.”

We can see what he means, playing Damon is probably really tough, especially with all of the emotion that is required for the job — not to mention the fact that he is a wrecking ball of destruction most times.

“You’re basically muddying the water all the time,” Ian continued. “You are pulling from all these things in your life that are not necessarily good, so it’s basically like getting paid for therapy instead of going and sitting in someone’s chair and going, ‘Tell me how you feel.’”

And sometimes, Ian revealed, the emotion gets to be too much for him to handle. “It’s not always fun. Sometimes it’s brutal and I’ll walk off set and I’ll cry for ten minutes alone in my trailer and I look at myself in the mirror and go, ‘What the hell are you doing? Why are you crying in this trailer? Go have a coffee or something.’”

But if you think Ian is headed for an emotional breakdown, think again. The actor is very professional and knows how to break out of these ruts and pep back up. “But for me, that’s acting — that’s what I do every day,” he noted. “It’s pretty weird.”

The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 1 Spoilers Roundup: “I Know What You Did Last Summer”

Damon and Elena
The last time we saw our favorite vamps, everyone was heading in different directions post-graduation. Matt took Rebekah up on her offer to travel the world, Damon and Elena finally made things official, Caroline got the A-OK to bring Tyler back to Mystic Falls, and Stefan, well, poor Stefan found himself locked in a box at the bottom of a quarry thanks to Silas. So where does that leave the Scooby Gang come fall?
The Vampire Diaries returns October 3 with Season 5, Episode 1 (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”), and it sounds like things start off with a bang — literally, for Matt and Rebekah. TVD fans, here’s what you can expect from the Season 5 opener (warning: major spoilers ahead!).
Elena and Caroline are Whitmore College-bound! You’d think that if you had the ability to live forever, you’d postpone your college plans for another year or so, but not Elena and Caroline. These two BFFs are headed to Whitmore College for their freshman year, but it unfortunately won’t be all sorority parties, football games, and all-nighters for Elena and Caroline. Just when they think they’ve escaped Mystic Falls and its abundance of supernatural activity, it turns out Whitmore College has its own dark secrets. But don’t worry, TVD fans, freshman year will bond Elena and Caroline “in a really good way.” However, things may start to derail for the BFFs when they meet Professor Buzzkill...
Enter Dr. Wes Maxfield. Elena and Caroline's professor is described as "a brilliant biology professor" at Whitmore College who “makes fast enemies” with the two freshmen. But he's not just another pretty face with a cocky attitude. Elena and Caroline start to suspect their bio teacher of “hiding a dark and dangerous secret.” Looks like these girls couldn't escape trouble for long!
Damon is still in Mystic Falls. Yes, this means after four seasons of will they/won’t they sexual tension, newly united Damon and Elena will once again be separated by distance. But at least they had an entire summer together — which no doubt included some sexy times in the Salvatore mansion — before Elena left for Whitmore.
Matt and Rebekah are in Prague — having a threesome?! Oh, Matt Donovan, look how much you’ve changed! In the Season 5 premiere, Mabekah are still having the time of their lives in Europe, and it looks like Matt is really breaking out of his comfort zone.
Showrunner Julie Plec recently told MTV’s Hollywood Crush that the couple will be joined by a “mysterious” Russian beauty named Nadia for a bedroom tryst! Julie said we’ll get to see the hot hookup in flashback in the premiere, adding, “... we get to see a nice little moment, in quotes — define it as you like — where Rebekah and Matt are living life to its fullest in Prague."
Rebekah heads to New Orleans. Rebekah is expected to show up in The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 1, then move on to The Originals for its second episode. So what brings Rebekah to N’awlins? Elijah. Ultimately, Rebekah’s love for her older brother brings her (and her signature sass) to Louisiana for some quality family time.
Silas takes over. At this year’s Comic-Con panel, fans were treated to an intense premiere clip of Silas addressing what seemed to be a compelled group of humans at the Mystic Falls End of Summer Party.
“This summer I have consumed an immeasurable amount of blood and I have found myself getting stronger and stronger every day,” Silas says to the captivated Mystic Falls crowd. “And I started to wonder, what are the limits to my powers? How many people can I influence? Two? Ten? An entire town square?”
Stefan is having hallucinations. We know Damon will figure out something is up with his brother early on in the season, but until they can get to Stefan at the bottom of the quarry, the sensitive Salvatore will have to endure even more mental and physical torture as he drowns, dies, and comes to life in a seemingly never-ending vicious cycle. Oh, and he’s also been suffering from painful hallucinations.
Are you excited for the Season 5 premiere, TVD fans? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re most excited for.
Catch the Season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev Finally Chooses: Team Damon or Team Stefan!

Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) has been stuck between the two Salvatore brothers on The Vampire Diaries since the very beginning, but Nina is finally taking a stance on the most talked about love triangle on TV: neither!
“I’m pretty sure there’s another brother somewhere who’s a hybrid of the two of them,” Nina said. “I don’t know — I think Elena’s got it good. She’s got both of them after her. She kind of gets both. She’s a smart woman!”

We totally agree with Nina. Who wouldn’t want to be adored by the equally hunky Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley? And plus, Nina said it would be impossible for her to actually choose a side.

“Half the fans will get mad at me if I say one, and the other half will say the other,” she revealed. “The beauty of the situation is that I don’t have to choose.”

While Nina doesn’t have to choose herself, we’re excited to see what’s going to happen between her and Damon this season and to see how the whole Stefan/Silas situation will work out.

Why Did The Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto Break Up?

Torrey DeVitto and Paul Wesley's Adorable Love
The second batch of sad Vampire Diaries relationship news broke when stars Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto filed for divorce earlier this month after two years of marriage.
The relatively private couple hasn’t spoken out about their split yet, but rumors have swirled about why they broke up, especially given how happy they looked in recent months. Apparently it was amicable, but we still have a lot of questions.
To help uncover the reasons behind their breakup, we’ve rounded up all the rumors about their divorce. Read on for some of the reported reasons why they are no longer together, then hit the comments with your own theories.
Their relationship was hard to maintain. Though the question wasn’t directly about his personal life, Paul did talk about how “maintaining a love story is a lot of work” on The Vampire Diaries. A reporter noted that it’s hard in real life, too. “No sh...” Paul started to reply, which we’re guessing meant ‘no s—t.” Perhaps their work schedules got the best of them.
They weren’t spending a lot of time together. Given that Pretty Little Liars films in Los Angeles and The Vampire Diaries films in Atlanta, work had the couple on opposite coasts almost constantly. Recently, they didn’t attend as many events together (including 2013 Comic-Con) and Torrey wasn’t spotted in any of his birthday party photos.
Generally, they put work first. Everything seems to point to Paul and Torrey just being too busy for a relationship. They are both big TV stars (Torrey is on two shows) and are trying to balance filming movies and having time for themselves. Post-breakup, Torrey headed to Africa for possible humanitarian work, which she definitely wouldn’t have had time for if they were still together.

Vampire Diaries Season 5: Newbies Kendrick Sampson and Olga Fonda Hang Out! (PHOTO)

Kendrick Sampson and Olga Fonda Hanging Out
We’re so excited about Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, but what has us even more excited than seeing our favorite characters — i.e. Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert — are the fresh faces joining the cast this year.
When we saw this adorable photo of Kendrick Sampson and Olga Fonda hanging out, we were super excited, and it made us remember that both of their characters — Jesse and Nadia, respectively — are going to have amazing arcs this season.

College is unchartered territory for our Mystic Falls friends, but Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) will be swimming in a pool of boys this year when they venture off to Whitmore College this fall. Jesse is a guy who could potentially have romantic interest in Caroline (sorry, Tyler!). But the bad news is that he doesn’t like vamps. Natch.

Nadia, on the other hand, is definitely going to be having a fling with one of our favorite characters. Our all-American boy Matt (Zach Roerig) and sexy vamp Rebekah (Claire Holt) will be getting down and dirty with Nadia in Prague — even getting into a little ménage à trois with the summer backpackers.

It’s good to know that the actors themselves are friends — even though their story arcs don’t look like they’ll cross very much.

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoiler: Katherine Gets Between Damon and Elena — Here’s How!

Katherine Appears to Damon in a Hallucination in Season 2, Episode 22: "As I Lay Dying"
Leave it to our favorite bad girl Katherine Pierce to put a wrench into the long-awaited romance between Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore — because that’s exactly what she’s doing when The Vampire Diaries returns for Season 5 on October 3.
According to TV Guide, Katherine will be shaking up at Damon’s house — but don’t worry, we don’t think there’s anything sexual going on between the two former flames.

“For once they’ll be happy,” TV Guide writes of Delena. “But their bliss will be foiled — yet again — by Katherine, who’ll be back to meddle in everyone’s lives. Although Damon says that he’s over her, what will Elena — who’s now off at college — think when she learns that Damon and Katherine have been bunking together at Chez Salvatore all summer long.” Uh oh!

This season is really going to put Damon and Elena’s relationship to the test, as we’ve already found out that their epic long-distance relationship will be quite the hurdle to overcome. And now with Katherine meddling in the budding relationship, rocky roads are certainly ahead.

Since Elena is the one who gave Katherine the cure, the two are sure to be at odds more than ever.

What do you think it going to happen between the doppelgängers this season? Will Damon and Elena’s relationship survive Katherine’s drama? Hit the comments and discuss!

Nina Dobrev Reveals Which Vampire Diaries Characters She Connects to the Most

Elena Gilbert
There are plenty of characters on The Vampire Diaries, but for Nina Dobrev, there are only two characters that are helping her learn new things about herself — but who are the lucky two?

It should come as no surprise that Nina is most connected to the two characters she portrays: Elena Gilbert and her doppelganger Katherine Pierce. Nina says she has “learned a lot and discovered a lot” about herself after playing these very different ladies.

"They bring out different parts of me and I have to go to different places," Nina told Digital Spy. "I can relate to both of them in many ways, and in many ways not. I'm learning a lot from them and I'm learning from their mistakes as well. It's just made me more confident and OK with myself. And I can walk in heels really well."

This season will definitely be interesting and offer Nina even more room to grow as a person and as an actress. Elena is headed off to Whitmore College and will have so many new experiences — not to mention a long-distance relationship with Damon — and Katherine is, shockingly, a human now!

We can’t wait to see where Nina’s characters head this season.

What do you think about Nina’s TVD inspiration? Do you like Elena or Katherine more? Hit the comments and take a side!

The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder vs. Joseph Morgan: Whose Casual Look Is Hotter? (PHOTOS)

The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder vs. Joseph Morgan: Whose Casual Look Is Hotter?
If there’s anything we know for sure about The Vampire Diaries, it’s that the guys are hot. On The CW, that’s not uncommon, but these vampires are a special breed of sexy.
Recently, we faced off stars Paul Wesley (Stefan) and Ian Somerhalder (Damon) — using their off-screen suited-up looks, of course — and Paul won by a landslide with 82 percent of TVD fans’ votes!
However, when it comes to casual looks, Ian may take the prize. He has a love of graphic tees that is unmatched by almost everyone — except for Joseph Morgan (Klaus), that is! This Original vampire (who now stars on The Originals) loves his T-shirts, which he showcased proudly at 2013 Comic-Con. He went for a black-and-white outfit, featuring grey-scaled roses and a coordinated cardigan over black jeans. Maybe he’s the one who should be up for Fifty Shades of Grey...
Similarly, Ian rocked a black T-Shirt designed by The Vanity Project (a company that collaborates with more than 40 non-profit organizations) at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards, paired with super-dark Levis jeans. He smoldered, as always, and kept the rest of his look simple with a beaded bracelet and a relatively clean-shaven look. There was a bit of stubble there, though, and we admittedly swooned. A lot.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: Five Couples That Will Never Happen

Damon, Elena, and Stefan in a Season 4 Vampire Diaries Promo
A classic dramatic device television shows employ once they get into later seasons is the game of musical couples. In an effort to keep the show fresh and new, creators try romantic pairings the viewers haven’t seen before (often, to dismal results). With The Vampire Diaries entering its fifth season, will it follow this television strategy? And, if so, what might these couplings look like? Here are five TVD couples — from out of left field!

Matt & Katherine

Matt (Zach Roerig) is pretty much Mystic Falls’ go-to guy for bitchy vampiresses struggling with their relationship to humanity (we’re looking at you, Rebekah). Technically, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is now an ex-vampiress, but we bet she’s still a bitch and has some serious issues with her unwanted humanity. Since Matt is pretty much the only human left in Mystic Falls, he is the perfect guy to teach Katherine how to do it right. Romance ensues.

Caroline & Jeremy

We haven’t seen much interaction between these two TVD characters. In fact, we’re not really sure what they would even talk about past the week’s latest supernatural dilemma… But, we could see them spending more time together now that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is the only link to Ghost Bonnie. Plus, they could go shopping for Jeremy’s tank tops together. We’re sure Caroline (Candice Accola) has some opinions on the subject. Romance ensues.

Tyler & April

Yeah, this is super weird, but now that we’ve paired Caroline off with Jeremy, we need to do something with Tyler (Michael Trevino) and April’s not doing anything, right? To be honest, we’ve been kind of bored with April’s character since she was introduced in Season 4.

We need to give this girl some drama that doesn’t involve following around Matt or having her memory erased, and what better than an unconventional romance!

Elena & No One

What would be truly revolutionary for TVD in the romance department would be for Elena (Nina Dobrev) to spend a little time single. Not single and pining after one (or both) of the Salvatore brothers. But single single. We highly doubt this will ever happen, given that the love triangle between Damon/Elena/Stefan is a central theme of the show (and we do love it so), but if they really wanted to shock us a single Elena would do it. Romance doesn’t ensue.

Any gay romance whatsoever

We’ve been through four seasons of this show and still no gay characters let only gay romance to speak of! Executive producer Kevin Williamson promised a gay character a season or so back, but still no dice. We’re not so picky when it comes to our Season 5 gay romance. It can be existing characters who never mentioned the fluidity of their sexuality, or we can introduce new characters to the mix. But, seriously, where are all the gay people hiding in Mystic Falls?
Do you think TVD will try any of these couplings? Which ones are you eager to see?

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Is the Year of the Doppelgänger Says Julie Plec — Exclusive

Phoebe Tonkin, Joseph Morgan, Julie Plec, Charles Michael Davis, Mark Pedowitz, and Arielle Kebbel at the 2013 Summer TCAs
Now that Stefan (Paul Wesley) has a doppelgänger on The Vampire Diaries, these shadow-selves are practically a dime a dozen. During the recent CBS Summer TCA All-Star event, Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries about why The Vampire Diaries Season 5 will be the “season of the doppelgänger.”
Wetpaint Entertainment: Let’s go through the big arcs of the season. What can we say as far as Vampire Diaries goes?
Julie Plec: College. Relationships, long-distance relationships.
Caroline Dries: I don't know what the definition of arc is, but we have cool new mythologies that we're introducing this season. So obviously, you've met Silas briefly at the end of the season, and so going into this season, we already know Elena's a doppelgänger. Katherine's a doppelganger. So we're just like, "Why do doppelgänger exist?" And so now that we realize Stefan's a doppelgänger, we kind of explore the deeper mythology of why does this weird phenomena occur. So that's pretty cool. And that has ripple effects for all of our main three characters.
JP: Basically, a doppelgänger is the zombie of another supernatural show. It's our next layer of supernatural mystery that we haven't truly explored yet. So it's a season of the doppelgänger.
Does everyone have a doppelgänger?
JP: No. The mystery of how the doppelgänger was created and why and how often they appear and for what reason is something that we actually start getting into right away. And by Episode 3, we start laying a lot of the answers to that mystery out.
What Stefan? What's happening?
JP: Well, poor Stefan has just been on the quarry floor in that safe, drowning over and over again all summer long. So he's struggling, to put it mildly, and hopefully he won't have to struggle for much longer because his loved ones will realize that he's missing. But until that happens, he's just screwed.
CD: So many seem to have a really heartbreaking story in the first episode.
JP: Yeah, it's funny, in spite of being in the bottom of the quarry floor, the Stefan storyline in episode one is really moving, and keeps alive that sense of his strong feelings for both his brother and for Elena.

Pretty Little Liars’ Steven Krueger Cast on The Originals: First On-Set Pic!

First On-Set Photo of Steven Krueger on The Originals
If we were Hollywood actors looking to land a gig, we’re pretty sure a role on The Originals would be at the top of our list. Luckily for Steven Krueger, he’s one of the few actors who can say he’s accomplished this incredible goal!
For at least three episodes, Steven — who you may remember as Emily’s ex-boyfriend on Pretty Little Liars — will be portraying the role of Josh. Josh has been described as a young tourist who gets a bit too wild during a night out in New Orleans. When he stumbles into Marcel’s bar, things take an unexpectedly dark and dangerous turn.

While we don’t know which episode Steven will first appear, we can expect it sooner rather than later. The cast has only been filming for a week and Steven’s already been spotted on set!

Vampire Diaries Season 5: Candice Accola on Caroline's New Love Interest

College is a time for new experiences, and although Vampire Diaries' Candice Accola told Yahoo! at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con that Caroline is still very rooted in her relationship with Tyler (Michael Trevino), she did say she had heard about a potential new love interest for her character. Jesse is an upperclassman at Whitmore College and Candice says Caroline might have her eyes opened just by being at college. In that same vein, she said there might be a pause in the romance between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline now that he's on The Originals. One thing that hasn't changed? The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will Matt and Rebekah Break Up?

Rebekah and Matt in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23: "Graduation"
Vampire Diaries spoilers of the romance variety from TV Guide below!
“Summer lovin’, had me a blast...” Sandy’s and Danny’s fashions were just too different to make it work when they met back at school after their fun-in-the-sun in Grease. Will the same be true for Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) in The Vampire Diaries Season 5?
The last time we saw that crazy vampire/human duo, they were headed off on a trip around the world. Le sigh. The romance! But as Claire Holt tells TV Guide, "In the last episode, Matt told her, 'I have to keep my life vampire-free,' so she knew going into it that they would have a little fun, travel the world together and now she's ready to move on and take down more men in New Orleans.”
Well, that was fast! It makes sense, though. Rebekah is expected to show up in The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 1, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” then move on to The Originals for that show’s second episode.
However, all hope is not lost. While we’re sure Bex will have a very active love life in Louisiana (as long as her brothers don’t cramp her style too much), at the TCA panel earlier this week, Claire said she’d love to hop between The Originals and TVD.
Of course, there might be a little somethin’-somethin’ between Rebekah and a certain New Orleans vampire that could distract her from the blue-eyed quarterback...

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: A Flashback in Episode 3

Stefan and Damon in Vampire Diaries Season 1, Episode 6: "Lost Girls"
We know The Vampire Diaries Season 5 will jump forward to a few months after the Season 4 finale when it returns on October 3, but TVLine reports we’ll also get yet another glimpse into the past in Episode 3.
According to executive producer Caroline Dries, the flashback is to “a decade we haven’t seen before. It’s going to be very good.” As long as there are some glorious wigs, we’re in!
Want more hints? Season 5, Episode 3 is also when we meet Stefan’s  former girlfriend: a vampire named Tessa. Since she’s a nobleman's daughter,”according to SpoilerTV, we’re guessing we’re going way back in the Salvatores’ history — and perhaps to another country? We can’t remember the last time we saw any Marquesses in America.
Apparently the high-born bloodsucker knows both brothers and eventually tracks down Damon in present-day Mystic Falls (a task she’s been trying to accomplish for decades) and takes possession of his daylight ring. Somehow we doubt she waits until dusk to do so.
It sounds like Stefan really does like a dash of crazy when it comes to ladies. Katherine, Rebekah (Claire Holt), now Tessa? He certainly bucked the trend when he went for Elena!

The writing had been on the wall for quite some time that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were headed for a split. However, when it came to their co-stars Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto, nothing could have prepared us for the heartbreaking news.
On Tuesday, July 30, a rep for couple revealed that Paul and Torrey had decided to end their two-year marriage, adding that “they will continue to remain good friends.”

Just a month ago, the couple appeared at the Bloodlines convention in Brazil, where Paul proudly proclaimed his love for his wife. We’re shocked that things could go downhill so quickly since this moment, and it has us longing to relive their relationship in happier times.

So dust off your box of tissues and crack open the Ben and Jerry’s as we look back at Paul and Torrey and the way they were.
