The Vampire Diaries: Ridiculous Romantic Pairings We’d Like to See

Ridiculous Romance PairingsThe Vampire Diaries is good at toying with viewers and characters alike when it comes to the show’s vast array of romantic pairings.

To say that some of our favorite TVD relationships inspire passionate feelings is to put it, uh, mildly. To put it less mildly, Teams Edward and Jacob are benched as soon as Teams Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) take the field. (Let us all now pause to imagine Damon and Stefan playing football... with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) refereeing.)

We could sit around and theorize about our favorite pairings and potential couplings on the show (in fact, why don’t we do that later, preferably over pizza and fine chianti for the plus 21-set) but it might be a little bit more fun to think about the never-gonna-happen-in-this-life-or-the-next type pairings.

sheriff Forbes and Damon
Sheriff Forbes Eyes Damon in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 11, “Our Town”
We haven’t seen a lot of the good sheriff lately. In fact, if memory serves, her last appearance was answering a noise complaint at Castle Salvatore where a newly dehumanized Elena (Nina Dobrev) nearly ate her as lunchmeat. It’s always a welcome treat to see the sheriff, and it can make a person hanker for the early TVD days, when an unwitting sheriff Forbes had Damon as a partner in crime. Sure, their friendship hit some rocks when she found out what he was, and that he had been using her AND that he had totally turned her daughter, but still! The idea of Damon with someone a little closer to his own age, with a law-abiding streak and no time for nonsense? Sign us up.

Verdict: Refreshingly ridiculous.

Elena and Klaus
Klaus Has a Hold on Elena in Season 3, Episode 5: “The Reckoning”
If ever Elena were going to enter into a sexy, binding, covenant with any original, the idea of it being Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is enough to turn the stomach. Obviously, she’d go for Elijah (Daniel Gillies), because they’ve already got a mutual respect and thanks to his feelings for Katherine (Nina Dobrev) we know he’s got a type. But this isn’t “most likely” land, it’s the land of “no”, and in this land, Elena, freshly dehumanized, is doing everything she can to anger her nearest and dearest and also Rebekah(Claire Holt). What better way to do that than to bump uglies with Klaus? Not only is there officially no one this action wouldn’t piss off, but think of the emotional damage this gruesome twosome could inflict! Oh the humanity.

Verdict: Silly but sexy.
Caroline and The ghost of Aralic
Caroline and the Ghost of Alaric
Ha ha ha ha. This is our favorite one of all. Picture it, night in Mystic Falls. Caroline (Candice Accola) is going to the frame store to pick up the series of photographs of herself she was having mounted. She waited too long though, and the store is closed. But what’s that? A glimmer in the glass door, a reflection? She turns around and there is Alaric (Matt Davis), drinking whiskey and being a ghost. “I’ve always loved you Caroline,” he says. “That’s weird because you are my teacher, too old for me, and dead,” she replies. Alaric laughs because he is charmed by Caroline’s sassy brashness. “Oh, Caroline, because I am dead and you are a vampire I don’t think any of that matters, so don’t be bigoted.” Then they embrace, which is challenging since he is but an astral projection. Think about it guys: this is worth it just to see Caroline and Alaric have a heart to heart powwow about the nature of their relationship with the rest of the gang. The look on Damon’s face MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT.

Verdict: Paging Julie Plec: We have a winner.

The Vampire Diaries Finale First Look: Has Elena Turned Her Emotions Back On?

Can Elena Gilbert finally feel again?

In our exclusive first look at The Vampire Diaries finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is looking at a wound on Damon's chest. Yes, we're a tad worried about the state of Mr. Salvatore, but even more importantly, Elena looks concerned! Does that mean the drastic attempts by her friends on Thursday's episode —teased here — will work?

Check out scoop on all the season finales

"We have a lot of questions on the table about Elena," Julie Plec tells us. "Is she stuck this way forever? Is she ever going to turn her humanity back on? If she does, will the sire bond be back in effect or gone? If it's gone, what are her feelings for Damon vs. her feelings for Stefan? The whole season has been trying to get Elena back to who she was, so everything will be answered in the finale."

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will Klaus Forgive Tyler? — Exclusive

Tyler in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 14: “Down the Rabbit Hole”Poor Tyler (Michael Trevino). He’s been run out of town on The Vampire Diaries too often to count. In Season 4, his move seemed more permanent than usual, with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) threatening the hybrid’s life should he return to Mystic Falls.

Of course, Caroline (Candice Accola) has a problem with that, which may or may not convince the Original to let her boyfriend life. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Joseph Morgan, we had to know what Klaus’s plans for Tyler are.

When we asked if we’d seen the end of their power struggle, Joseph replied, “That's going to achieve some resolve by the end of the season in terms of Klaus making it clear. He really holds Tyler's fate in his hand at the moment.”

In Season 4, Episode 19, “Pictures of You,” Klaus let his former minion live for Caroline’s sake. Now that Klaus is headed to New Orleans permanently — for the TVD spin-off The Originals — Klaus will make some proclamations about Tyler’s future. Joseph explains, “He's going to make it clear what's OK and what's not OK as far as Tyler goes. So yeah, that's not just going to be left open.”

Do you think the hybrid will grant Tyler a reprieve?

The Vampire Diaries 4×23 “Graduation” Press Release

Nina Dobrev, Elena Gilbert, The Vampire Diaries 4x23 GraduationIf we’re getting a press release for The Vampire Diaries “Graduation” episode, then that must mean that we’re getting really close to the season finale. We’ve already had some spoilers about this episode, but now we have the official press release! Can you believe these crazy kids are going to graduate in about three weeks! Where did the time go!

The Vampire Diaries 4×23 “Graduation” Press Release

WHO WILL TAKE THE CURE? — On Graduation Day, Mystic Falls is overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores and fulfilling their supernatural destinies. Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) life is in danger after a ghostly encounter, while Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) join forces to battle a ghost determined to find the cure. As everyone gathers for the graduation ceremony and the ghosts converge, help comes from an unlikely hero. Caroline (Candice Accola) receives a touching and unexpected graduation present, and Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) plan leads to the closing of the veil. Elena (Nina Dobrev) makes a decision about the Salvatore brothers and faces an epic confrontation with Katherine (Nina Dobrev). Finally, Stefan (Paul Wesley) discovers a horrifying clue to the mystery surrounding Silas.

The Vampire Diaries 4×23 “Graduation” episode season finale will air May 16th, and then will know who is no a vampire.

The Vampire Diaries 4×22 “The Walking Dead” Spoiler

Nina Dobrev, Elena Gilbert, Ian Somerhalder, Damon Salvatore, Paul Wesley, Stefan Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries, CWVampires, werewolves, ghosts, and now zombies! Will The CW get in trouble with the AMC network for using this title? Probably not, but the title does bring up visions of the zombies on the AMC hit series The Walking Dead! Since the title hints that The Vampire Diaries 4×22 “The Walking Dead” episode will contain zombies, hopefully they won’t be as gruesome as the ones on The Walking Dead series!

Can we really call any risen vampires, werewolves, or witches zombies? They’re probably not ghosts, since only some people can see ghosts and I’m pretty sure everybody will be able to see the resurrected supernaturals. I’d also bet that they’ll be more animated that the zombies on The Walking Dead series, who just mindlessly walk about looking for something or someone to eat. But, like those zombies, they’ll probably not be real friendly. But you never know.

Before we get to The Vampire Diaries version of “The Walking Dead” we’ll be experiencing prom, with it’s own set of problems. This episode will air shortly, following by our recap and review as quickly as our fingers can type!

Some of the spoilers that’s been revealed are that it looks like Caroline tries to make up with Elena by encouraging her to send out her graduation announcements. Well, that doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen. Caroline will be lucky if Elena doesn’t try to stake her again!

Remember when Sheriff Forbes mentioned to Stefan that somebody has been taking blood from the local blood banks and hospitals? It sounds like we’re getting ready to address this again, and Caroline’s mom, Sheriff Forbes, will recruit Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to find out what’s going on with the missing blood and the “injured” hospital patients. Oh no! Have they been drained of blood because there’s no blood left in the blood banks and the hospital blood supply? That nasty Silas! Hospital patients are much too easy to prey on, especially considering bunnies are probably much more nimble on their furry feet!

And speaking of bunnies, was that rabbit’s feet “corsage” that Stefan gave Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries 4×12 “A View to a Kill” from the feet of one of his “victims”? Ew!

A spoiler sounds like Bonnie will try to ask Katherine for some help in order to try and defeat Silas. Well, this probably won’t happen. Bonnie would probably have better luck asking the bitchy Elena!

An interview with Zach Roerig, who plays Matt Donovan, indicates that while Matt may not forgive Rebekah for some of the nasties, he’ll understand her better and may actually dance with her and be friends. Maybe they’ll end up as friends with benefits!

“The Walking Dead” synopsis

SOMETHING WICKED — As Graduation Day approaches, Caroline (Candice Accola) tries to distract Elena (Nina Dobrev) by focusing on simple tasks like sending out announcements, but Elena won’t be swayed from her new obsession. Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) calls Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to the hospital, where someone has been attacking patients. Still trying to force Katherine (Nina Dobrev) to help her, Bonnie (Kat Graham) refuses to give up on her plan to defeat Silas. As a violent wind storm causes a power outage in Mystic Falls, ghosts suddenly appear – some with good intentions and some bent on revenge.

The Vampire Diaries 4×22 “The Walking Dead” episode airs on May 9th on The CW at 8/7c time.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Season 4, Episode 21 — Elena, Katherine

Elena or Katherine? Who's Your Doppelganger Bestie? The last time we saw Elena and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) fight, the newbie vamp had some hardcore backup in the form of Rebekah (Claire Holt) and her fork. According to some new Vampire Diaries spoilers from Zap2It, this time around, Elena won’t be so lucky.

The Salvatores are preparing to torture Elena into having emotions again. Depriving her of blood didn’t work, so in Season 4, Episode 21, “She’s Come Undone” they take it to a whole other level. After removing her daylight ring, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) douse her with sunshine. She sizzles and catches fire.

The only problem? The baby bloodsucker isn’t nearly as scared as she was when Bonnie (Kat Graham) was killing her with magic. Though she’s obviously in pain, it’s not enough to flip her humanity switch. Elena knows the boys would never really hurt her. That’s where Katherine comes in.

We’re not sure what Lady K will do to her doppelganger, but she’s probably willing to take things much farther. As previously reported, Damon also threatens to kill Matt (Zach Roerig). Let’s just hope Katherine’s wicked little games succeed before Damon has to take a bite out of the quarterback!

Vampire Diaries Speculation: What Would Happen If Damon Took The Cure?

Damon in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”In the massive cure hunt that is The Vampire Diaries Season 4, there has been a lot of debate over who wants the cure and why, not to mention who should or shouldn’t get their hands on this second chance at humanity. But one vamp who has expressed exactly zero interest in taking the cure is Damon (Ian Somerhalder); on the contrary, he’s made it abundantly clear that he has no intention of ever giving up his vamp status.

So obviously, that makes us think about Damon taking the cure! Could it happen? What would happen if he did?

If there’s one thing we know about Damon, it’s that he’s not exactly forthcoming with his feelings. Sure, he relishes the power that comes with being an immortal, but he’s not as tough as he pretends. Remember way back in Season 2, Episode 12, when Rose died and Damon got drunk and lay in the middle of the road until a Good Samaritan stopped to help him?  He laid this little doozy on us:

“You are my existential crisis. Do I kill you or do I not kill you? But I have to, Jessica, because I’m not human. And I miss it. I miss it more than anything in the world. That is my secret. But there is only so much hurt a man can take.”

Sure, much he later told Elena (Nina Dobrev), "You know, I used to miss being human. Now I can’t think of anything more miserable on earth," but there’s a big possibility he’s all talk. He’s not one for showing his gushy center to the world.

Speaking of which, what would it do to his relationship with Elena? There was a time that a human Damon might have been a decent match for the big-hearted newbie vamp, but now that Elena’s humanity is behind her we’re not so sure. Then again, their relationship isn’t exactly smooth sailing at the moment anyway, since she currently cares about no one and nothing, so it’s not like he’d be throwing a wrench in some otherwise-perfect romantical works.

Damon may talk a big game, but do you think there’s a chance he’d end up loving being human? It would be one hell of an adjustment, but Damon’s hot and rich, and he’d probably do just fine with life and the ladies even without compulsion. That being said, maybe he’d finally have a chance at real love, since he and brother Stefan (Paul Wesley) might not go for the same ladies quite as often as they are now, if one was a vamp and the other human.

Or on the other hand, would he just be miserable and immediately set out to get someone to bite him again? With all the vamp friends he has, there must be someone who would turn him back into one of them before Klaus murders him just for funsies.

What do you think? Is there any chance Damon could take the cure? What would happen if it did? We know you’ve got theories, and we want to hear them all!

The Vampire Diaries’ Joseph Morgan Talks the Cure

Joseph Morgan Is GorgeousWe’re not the only ones intrigued to find out what happens in The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale. Joseph Morgan (Klaus) told Digital Spy he couldn’t wait to discover who takes the cure.

“I mean, when I read the finale the main thing I wanted to know is, 'Who's going to get the cure?' That's what I was the most excited about — who on earth is going to get the cure?” admits Joseph. Now that he knows, he thinks viewers will be just as shocked as he was.

“I can tell you it's not what you think,” teases Joseph. “I can tell you that it's going to be... I think it's going to be a surprise for everyone. It certainly took me unawares.”

The suspense is killing us! With JoMo joining The Originals, we would be stunned if the Original lost his hybrid status by taking the cure. After all, Klaus will need all the advantages he can get to take back New Orleans while balancing fatherhood.

The actor also hinted at some of the ghosts we’ll see in the final couple episodes. Joseph said, “There's also some appearances in the coming episodes which people should get very excited about. There's some characters that people should be excited to see. … Possibly some familiar faces, yes!”

The Season 4 finale is shaping up to be the most epic one yet.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Is This How Elena Regains Her Humanity?

Is the veil between the living and the dead supernaturals about to come crashing down on The Vampire Diaries?

SheKnows interviewed executive producer Julie Plec and asked if we’ll be seeing any dearly departed characters — ahem, Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) — back on the show.

Silas’s Expression triangle is complete, and presumably he’s just waiting for the cure to dissolve the Other Side. That way, he can become mortal, die, and be with his girlfriend forever and ever.

“Given that the season is about Silas's desire to break down the vamps of the other side and unleash all the supernatural beings back onto earth, I think I feel pretty safe in saying his plan will not be completely foiled,” says Julie. Oh, dear.

Hopefully that doesn’t mean Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley), and the rest are just going to let the ancient immortal do his thing. Julie says, “With luck, our heroes will be able to triumph and not bring on the supernatural apocalypse.”

But if they don’t succeed... “I definitely think we'll see a few familiar faces before the season's out,” the EP teases. “I think that it's possible, as we try to win Elena's humanity back [by] facing some of her past stuff that represents humanity could be glimpsed again.”

Hm, we’re guessing if Elena sees Jeremy again, it just may give her a reason to flip that humanity switch again.

What to Expect in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 21 — A Detailed Analysis of the Promo Video

When last we saw The Vampire Diaries crew, torture was afoot. In Season 4, Episode 21, “She’s Come Undone,” the Salvatores unleash every weapon in their arsenal to convince their favorite unemotional vampire to feel. It’s a pretty brutal 25 seconds to get through, so let’s get to it!

0:01 — Damon from above
 Hello, angel.

0:02 – 0:03 He misses the old Elena.
The new one is a tad murder-y for some tastes.

0:04 — Elena gives him the side-eye.
Is “annoyed” an emotion?

0:05 – 0:06 — Stefan wants to provoke Elena.
Tell her about Klaus’s baby. That should shock her back into reality.

0:07 — She definitely looks provoked.
And headed, fangs bared, for someone.

0:08 – 0:09 — Caroline does not approve.
Probably remembers her own torture sessions with her dad.

0:10 — “How far would you go?”
Tying someone to a chair and torturing someone is pretty far, but by Mystic Falls standards it’s just another Tuesday.

0:11 — Damon pleads his case.
He really wants Elena back.

0:12 — Stefan doesn’t seem convinced.
These bros never agree on anything.

0:13 — Ropes.
Fifty Shades of Gruesome.

0:14 — Damon will stop at nothing to get Elena back.
Even torture. How... romantic?

0:16 — Stefan makes a face.
Pay no attention to the man in front of the curtain.

0:17 — Sunlight!
Except when he rips it open to sizzle you...

0:18 — This girl is on fiiiiiiire!
Literally. Someone put her out.

0:19 — Elena screams.
Ugh, this is kind of horrible to watch.

0:21 — Stefan from above.
Hello, angel number two.

0:22 – 0:23 — Stefan gives Elena a “choice.”
News flash: If one of the options is “or we keep torturing you,” it’s not really a choice.

0:24 — Elena threatens Stefan’s life.
Hey, we’d be mad, too.

The Vampire Diaries’ Originals Spin-Off Show Picked Up by The CW

Klaus and Marcel in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”That didn’t take long! The CW just aired The Originals, The Vampire Diaries spin-off, last night, and today they picked the show up for a full series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a statement, CW president Mark Pedowitz said, “As soon as we saw last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, we knew we wanted more of The Originals — Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with The Vampire Diaries, which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for The Originals.”

The show, which had 2.2 million viewers last night, will revolve around Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt). They’ll move to New Orleans to combat Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), the vampire who rules the town. Complicating issues is Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), the werewolf who’s pregnant with Klaus’s child.

Executive producer Julie Plec has promised as many crossovers as possible between TVD and The Originals. We can’t wait to see what the new show will bring come fall!

Who’s Returning Before the Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale?Who’s Returning Before the Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale?

With Episode 22 entitled “The Walking Dead,” we’re definitely expecting to see a few ghosts! How is that possible, you ask? Well, it’s starting to look like Silas will succeed with his plan to tear down the veil between this world and the Other Side.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Klaus and Caroline’s Dangerous Moment — Exclusive

Well, that Vampire Diaries spoiler photo where Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has Caroline (Candice Accola) up against a tree certainly looks different after The Originals.

In The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 21, “She’s Come Undone,” the blond vamp has a “confusing and dangerous encounter” with the hybrid. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Joseph Morgan about the moment, we had no idea Klaus was about to become a father. In Season 4, Episode 20, the Original learned that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is carrying his child.

Will Klaus admit the truth to Caroline? Joseph said of the interaction, “I mean, it was a really interesting thing for me to play, and it's certainly comes into the guise of the moment that everybody's wanted all along and turned out to be something infinitely more complicated. So yeah, watch out for that one. That's going to be an interesting one.”

Our ears definitely perked up at the part where Joseph said something about a “moment that everybody’s wanted all along.” Could Caroline finally be acknowledging her feelings for Klaus?

If she does learn about Klaus’s impending bundle of joy, how do you think Caroline will react? Will it make her see the Original in a new light, or will the news be too overwhelming for the 18-year-old vampire? Either way, we're worried about why the interaction is so dangerous for her.

Vampire Diaries Fans Tweet Phoebe Tonkin Death Threats After Originals

Phoebe Tonkin Outside the Bec & Bridge Runway Show on April 8, 2013Hey... The Vampire Diaries fandom? We love you, but death threats are never cool. According to what Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) tweeted last night after The Originals pilot, some overzealous followers took to Twitter to express their displeasure over a certain plot twist.

In an interview with Zap2It, Phoebe admitted that after her character Hayley and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) hooked up several episodes ago, she felt “bullied” by Twitter and Tumblr users. “I read all that stuff, and it got really, really nasty,” she says.

At first, she thought fans had calmed down and were more accepting of The Originals plotline, which revealed that Hayley is carrying Klaus’s child. But a few hours after the interview, she tweeted at the article’s author, “I take it back @cadlymack the death threats are still coming.”

We scrolled through a lot of her mentions, and the overwhelming majority expressed their love and admiration for Phoebe (and told her how gorgeous she is, which, duh). Some admitted they “hate” Hayley and feel she “destroyed” any chance of Klaus and Caroline’s (Candice Accola) happiness.

We’re chalking these death threats up to a lone few, but hopefully Phoebe is taking all the other, much more positive tweets to heart instead.

The Vampire Diaries Poll: Do You Think Klaus Will Make a Good Father?

Klaus in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”Caution! Huge Vampire Diaries spoilers for Season 4, Episode 20, “The Originals.” Don’t read if you haven’t watched!

Holy moly! We can’t even. Our brains are mush after The Originals’ huge reveal. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is going to be a father. Apparently hybrid anatomy is a little different from vampires, meaning they can sometimes procreate?

Apparently something, um, stuck when he and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) did the deed, and now she’s pregnant with his baby. What will Caroline (Candice Accola) say?

At first, Klaus was nonplussed and told the witches who were holding Hayley captive to kill both her and the baby. But after a lot of persuading from Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Klaus realized he could have the makings of a family.

With plans to move permanently to New Orleans and challenge Marcel’s place as king of the city, Klaus certainly has a lot on his plate. What do you think of the new developments? Is it thrilling, or is it a little too Twilight for your taste?

Either way, we’re intrigued to see where they go with this plot. If The Originals goes to series, that will certainly be an interesting dynamic to explore. If not, will Klaus bring his supernatural tot back to Mystic Falls?

It will be interesting to see how Klaus handles fatherhood. Can you picture him on diaper duty?

Top 5 Vampire Diaries OMG Moments From Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”

Hayley Looks Worried in The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The OriginalsAll of the events in New Orleans left us gasping for breath during this week’s episode of  The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20 “The Originals,” but some more so than others. That’s why we’re bringing you the Top 5 OMG Moments that had us hitting “rewind” on our DVR remotes over and over.

Marcel Kills Jane-Anne Devereaux
Self-proclaimed vampire king of New Orleans Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is just full of surprises. Some are a pleasure, like his singing voice. Others, like his strongly held grip over the witches of the city and his devil-may-care attitude towards killing them? Not so much.

Vampires killing witches without much regard is pretty common currency on this show, so there’s nothing really OMG-worthy in Jane-Anne’s death alone. But when you take into account that she’s the whole reason Klaus (Joseph Morgan) ventured to New Orleans, and that it’s been her name bandied about so much in the past few weeks, her death suddenly seems a whole lot more shocking.

Hayley’s Bundle of Joy
Even ardent viewers of the show who believe La Plec and her team can do no wrong tilted their heads at the screen when Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Klaus hooked up a few weeks ago. It’s safe to say that we all moved past it, blaming their weird one-off on the alcohol, like the song says, and thinking no more of it.

Which brings us to this week’s major revelation! Holy Twilight Saga, you guys, Hayley is pregnant with Klaus’s baby. This is the first supernatural pregnancy on the show, and it changes everything! What does this mean for Klaus? He wasn’t exactly jumping up and down at the prospect of fatherhood, but we all know how important family — and loyalty — is to him. So many questions, so many diapers!

Klaus Chooses His Side
When Klaus arrived in New Orleans, it seemed like he was returning to a city full of one-time allies. While his connections with Marcel definitely needed some dusting off — complete with a guys’ night of watching Die Hard and eating pizza — it seemed certain that the two were on a path to friendship. Exhibit their bonding over the cute bartender, Cami (Leah Pipes).

But Marcel’s cock-of-the-walk attitude and Klaus’s notoriously short temper and demand for respect are a powder keg of a combination. Klaus puts up with Marcel killing Jane-Anne, he even tolerates having two of Marcel’s henchmen following him around town. But when Marcel publicly undermines Klaus, all hell breaks loose — and Klaus bites Thierry, Marcel’s friend, poisoning him and making it clear all bets are off.

Elijah Makes a Choice
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has always been the center of calm in the otherwise mercurial and unpredictable Mikaelson clan. While Klaus’s emphasis on family has always been less than normal, Elijah is the peacemaker. His friendship with Elena (Nina Dobrev) is proof of that.

His recent dalliance with Katherine (Nina Dobrev), though rooted in ancient history, has called into question his priorities. Or, at the very least, made his normally rock-solid sense of judgement seem faintly faulty. He proved us all wrong this week when, after finding out about the new miracle-baby, he bid the lady Katherine adieu.

Klaus Plans to Stay Put
Klaus seemed to have put down roots in Mystic Falls, whether or not the folks in town wanted him too. Just look at the size of his house! And his oil paintings can’t be that easy to transport hither and yon. Besides, he had so many schemes brewing in Mystic Falls-- and Caroline (Candice Accola) lives there.

How Were the Ratings For The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”?

Daniel Gillies Almost Got Punched While Filming The Originals! The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20, “The Originals” served as a backdoor pilot for a potential spin-off centered around the Original family of vampires. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) went to New Orleans to investigate a threat against him, while his siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) decided whether to side with their brother or not. So how many people tuned in to watch vamps in the French Quarter?

According to Entertainment Weekly, The Vampire Diaries ratings were down 31 percent from an average TVD episode: It had 2.2 million viewers last night, though the numbers may be adjusted later and that’s without DVR tallies included.

However, that number is up slightly from the previous week’s episode, which had 2.1 million viewers. Because this was the pilot for the series, The CW executives will likely factor the viewership in when considering whether to pick up the show for fall.

According to EW, the less-than-stellar ratings don’t necessarily spell doom for The Originals. It’s a show with a built-in audience of TVD fans, and “What fans say online about The Originals pilot (and how the network’s executive team feels about the project creatively) might have just as much impact on the series-order decision as how many viewers initially showed up. In other words: Semi-lousy ratings or not, a series pickup remains likely.”

That’s great news for everyone who’s dying to find out what happens with Klaus, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), and their little unexpected visitor. The CW will announce The Originals’ fate at the Upfronts on May 15 — if not sooner.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Who’s Living Together?

Where Should Elena Go to College? The Vampire Diaries Season 4 isn’t even over yet — and the crew hasn’t yet graduated from high school — but that doesn’t mean Season 5 isn’t well under way!
Fear Net spoke with Caroline Dries, a writer and producer for TVD, about what’s coming up for those who make it out of Season 4 alive. (“You know everything can’t go that well! There is always a body count,” she says of the finale.)
We’ll see the Mystic Falls gang end their high school run this year, and that means college for Season 5. Caroline and her co-writers are dreaming up ideas for Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Caroline (Candice Accola), and Bonnie (Kat Graham) right now — even if they aren’t all matriculating.
She explained, “we do this thing called ‘Vampire Diaries Boot Camp.’ We gather in the writers’ room, and now that we don’t have to deal with production phone calls and writing scripts, we just have full days of brainstorming the big ideas of the next season.” That actually sounds ridiculously fun. How do we get an invite?
The specifics of Season 5 haven’t been hammered out yet, as it’s still early days. “We are thinking of the big stuff,” says Caroline. “Elena is going to go to college, which will be huge, but we want to keep it grounded in Mystic Falls as well. Obviously Damon isn’t going to go to college; but Caroline and Bonnie and Elena are roommates.... We want to keep the stories intertwined, and not just have separate college storylines.”
All three of those besties are roommates? First of all, glad to see the ladies live to see college. Secondly, they’re clearly using some compulsion to grease those collegiate administration wheels!

The Vampire Diaries Spoiler Roundup For Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”

Klaus and Elijah in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20: “The Originals”Don your beads and shake up a Ramos Gin Fizz. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is on the move in tonight’s Vampire Diaries. Season 4, Episode 20 serves as the backdoor pilot for The Originals, which means we’ll be seeing a whole lot of the hybrid and his siblings. Check out our spoiler roundup for the special episode.
Klaus heads to New Orleans, thanks to Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) note.
So who’s conspiring against him? Some witches, perhaps?
There are lots of witches in the supernatural town, including Davina (Danielle Campbell), a newbie with great power.
In NOLA, Klaus meets up with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), a vampire he sired who now runs the town.
Klaus is a little jealous of his old friend.
Marcel is very much in control. Even the witches don’t practice magic unless he says so.
Klaus may have a witchy ally in Sophie (Daniella Pineda), a magical miss who’s lost her powers.
Not really a spoiler, but Klaus does terrible things.
Rebekah (Claire Holt) isn’t sure she wants to help her brother.
In fact, she kinda wants him dead.
Meanwhile, back in Mystic Falls, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are all set to torture Elena (Nina Dobrev).
Per usual, everyone should listen to Elijah (Daniel Gillies).
Hayley’s in New Orleans, but don’t expect to see her and Klaus get shirtless together again.
Don’t worry. Klaus won’t stay in New Orleans forever.
Right now, Klaus is all about Caroline, but should the show go to series, a human lady named Camille (Leah Pipes) might catch his eye. We’ll meet her in the pilot.
Similarly, the series would examine Klaus’s redemption — if such a thing is even possible.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: What It Looks Like Without the Originals

Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah in a Season 4 PromoThe Vampire Diaries airs its spin-off pilot, The Originals, tonight on The CW. Should it get picked up for a full series, the landscape of Mystic Falls will change drastically. Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) will call New Orleans home, leaving Stefan (Paul Wesley), Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) without a resident villain. And who will give Caroline (Candice Accola) fancy dresses and diamond bracelets now?
Executive producer Julie Plec tells Give Me My Remote that Season 5 of TVD will be very different indeed if the Originals are gone. However, she’s excited for the challenge.
Julie explains, “the greatest struggle as writers of this show is we like our villains to be on the good guys’ team more often than not. And we like our heroes to be villains. There’s not much separating the good guys and the bad guys in our world.” Reducing the amount of time Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah spend in Mystic Falls gives writers more time to focus on Damon, Elena, Stefan, Caroline, and the rest. We’ll get back to the business of them being heroes.
With at least one character heading off to college, Julie teases we could meet a lot of new faces. We could also see a lot of familiar faces on The Originals, should it get picked up. Though scheduling could get tricky, the EP wants to see lots of crossovers.
“[I]f we could find the way to lighten Elena’s [role] in one episode [of Vampire Diaries], what’s to say Katherine can’t show up in New Orleans,” says Julie. “Certainly, what’s to keep Tyler from showing up to say his piece? Or Caroline, to pursue whatever nagging interest she may or may not have in Klaus if he’s still gone?”
And maybe Klaus or Rebekah could return to Mystic Falls to check in on their favorite love interests?

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: More Elijah and Katherine?

Should Katherine and Elijah Hook Up on The Vampire Diaries? Were you blindsided by the Elijah (Daniel Gillies)/Katherine (Nina Dobrev) romance in The Vampire Diaries Season 4? Daniel Gillies tells Entertainment Weekly that he was surprised by all the hubbub their entanglement caused.

“[A]mid the storm of it all, I’m just confused,” laughs Daniel. “I don’t have feelings one way or the other. Me, I just play the role. It’s fascinating to me to watch the frenzy…. It’s exciting watching that relationship transpire — and heartbreaking, whether it works or not. There’s something about it that already feels like this ancient, fractured romance.”

Perhaps that’s because Elijah and Katherine have known each other since 1492. They met in England when she was still human and still went by Katerina. That’s quite a history, and they’ve come a long way since Season 2 when he compelled her to stay in the tomb and wait for Klaus.

Producer Caroline Dries tells Fear Net that there’s more to come of the complex relationship that is Kalijah. “We saw how Katherine and Elijah’s relationship kind of came out of left field, and yet made perfect sense — at least to me. We get to see that [relationship] evolve a little more and learn more of Katherine’s story,” she teases.

We’d like to know how Katherine came to be so vulnerable with Elijah. Though the vamp still clearly has trust issues, she clearly wants to find happiness with the Original.

That probably means their doomed, right?

THE ORIGINALS 4X20

Tomorrow is new TVD with the back door pilot for the Originals I am very excited but, i am also excited to see what goes down with Elena and Stefan and Damon if she knows they won't hurt her then there's no hope i think there gonna need all the help they can get like Bonnie for one she scared her last episode it's gonna be and awesome episode we don't have much more episodes to go though then it's the end of season 4 and then we will have to wait for season 5 which is supposed to be very good from seeing a few spoilers already
TVD time can't come quick enough for me!!!!!!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers For The Originals: Klaus’s Ally?

Klaus and Elijah Look Intense in The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The OriginalsHere we thought Klaus (Joseph Morgan) would have to take on New Orleans all by his lonesome in The Originals. Yet in a behind-the-scenes video for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20, “The Originals,” it looks like he may have found someone to take up his cause.
Marcel, Klaus’s former protégé, is king of New Orleans. He tells his ex-mentor, “What’s mine is yours, but it is mine.” As the man in charge, “he does what he wants, he kills who he wants,” says one of the witches. Klaus is envious of all of this.
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) realizes that it’s the witches of New Orleans who are cooking something up for Klaus, but maybe one of them is willing strike a deal with him. “I’m going to stop him,” witch Sophie tells Klaus of Marcel. “And you’re going to help me.”
As Joseph Morgan told Wetpaint Entertainment, the witches must have permission from Marcel in order to use magic. Maybe it’s not Klaus they’re plotting against — but the king of NOLA.
Either way, we can’t wait to see this supernatural showdown. As Daniel Gillies explains in the video, vampires run the town and don’t have to hide in the shadows. Well, they can only come out at night, but that’s when all the best parties are anyway...

NEW BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEO FROM THE ORIGINALS

The Vampire Diares': Elena Is 'Feeling No Pain. And It's Torture' In Exclusive Ad (PHOTO)

the vampire diaries elenaOn "The Vampire Diaries," Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been wreaking some serious havoc on Mystic Falls ever since she turned off her humanity. And it looks like things are going to get worse.

Last week, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) efforts to bring some emotion back to the once overly-empathetic Elena failed miserably, but if The CW's new ad for the May 16th finale is any indication, she's not feeling anything any time soon.

Below, check out The Huffington Post's exclusive first look at the "Vampire Diaries" May sweeps ad, which features Elena and reads, "Feeling no pain. And it's torture."After this week's episode, "The Originals," which serves as the backdoor pilot for "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff, there are only three episodes left in Season 4. Though there's no episode description for the finale, titled "Graduation," yet, showrunner Julie Plec teased to TVLine, "There’s going to be a lot of questions about, ‘Who am I? What am I going to do with my life? What am I meant to be? Where am I meant to go?’ ... All of our characters will be faced with that question as they make decisions about whether to stay or go, go to college, travel the world, break up, stay together. A lot of big, important life decisions as we say goodbye to the high school chapter of the show."

Plec also told TV Guide that all the seniors might not graduate. "Definitely not all of our wayward, delinquent students will be present when it comes time to collect their diplomas ... I'm not saying they won't be alive -- they just won't be able to extricate themselves, as graduation falls right in the middle of a crucial supernatural time."

Check out the episode descriptions for next week's episode and the penultimate episode below:

"She's Come Undone" (Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET)
LET'S MAKE A DEAL - Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) try a brutal new approach to provoke Elena (Nina Dobrev) into turning her humanity back on, and Caroline (Candice Accola) is frustrated when her attempt to intervene backfires. When Elena figures out a way to call the Salvatore brothers' bluff, they call for backup from a surprising source. Matt (Zach Roerig) gives Rebekah (Claire Holt) some unsolicited advice on her life choices, and she tries to help him in return. Caroline has a confusing and dangerous encounter with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is suspicious when Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes her an offer that she promises will benefit them both.
"The Walking Dead" (Thursday, May 9 at 8 p.m. ET)
SOMETHING WICKED - As Graduation Day approaches, Caroline (Candice Accola) tries to distract Elena (Elena Dobrev) by focusing on simple tasks like sending out announcements, but Elena won't be swayed from her new obsession. Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) calls Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to the hospital, where someone has been attacking patients. Still trying to force Katherine (Elena Dobrev) to help her, Bonnie (Kat Graham) refuses to give up on her plan to defeat Silas. As a violent wind storm causes a power outage in Mystic Falls, ghosts suddenly appear - some with good intentions and some bent on revenge. Zach Roerig and Claire Holt also star.

Vampire Diaries Mini Synopsis For Season 4, Episode 23: “Graduation”

Elena in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 6: “We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes”The CW released a mini-synopsis for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation,” and there’s bad news all around.
First, it’s graduation. Yay! Congrats, you crazy kids. Second, there are ghosts everywhere. Sigh. Looks like Silas succeeded with his “alter the fabric of the universe by eliminating the veil” plan.
These spirits are angry, too. They’re out for revenge. One of them puts Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) life in danger. Yikes. That murderous dude probably has lots of victims he doesn’t want coming back from the dead.
Guess who’s still hanging out after prom? Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Matt (Zach Roerig)! There’s probably not much romance, though, as they have to combat a ghost who wants the cure too. Qetsiyah, is that you?
Stefan (Paul Wesley) puts on his detective hat and tracks down some terrifying info about Silas and his whole mystique.
Read the mini-synopsis below.
On Graduation Day, Mystic Falls is overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores. Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) life is in danger after a ghostly encounter, while Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) join forces to battle a ghost determined to find the cure. Finally, Stefan (Paul Wesley) discovers a horrifying clue to the mystery surrounding Silas.

Exclusive! 'The Vampire Diaries' Producer Gives Us a Sneak Peek at Season Five

We get to look forward to our gang graduating high school. We get to unfold the different layers of Silas as we get to know him better as the villain. There are some huge surprises with Bonnie and her magic that will shake us to our core, I think. We saw how Katherine and Elijah’s relationship kind of came out of left field, and yet made perfect sense - at least to me. We get to see that [relationship] evolve a little more and learn more of Katherine’s story. Then there is Elena, who we saw at prom as this heartless bitch who tried to kill her best friend. The boys need to put a stop to it because Elena is becoming her own worst nightmare. Elena has become the villain of the season at this point. So the Salvatores have to test their own limits with Elena, and do everything in their power to make her turn her emotions back on. It puts a huge strain on them because this is the woman they both love. How do you make her turn her emotions back on?

One of the things that was hinted at in the prom episode was that the only emotions Elena seems to respond to are fear and pain. Can we expect to see the boys just torturing the shit out of her?

Yes. In the least pretty fashion. This is where they realize - and the audience sees - how strong Elena is as a character - and as a villain, because she is able to withstand so much of their torture. [Damon and Stefan] torturing her is actually torture for them because they love her so much. So she is able to play with that dynamic. If you think Elena is a villain now, she manages to become an even greater villain. By the end of the season, we will find a way for her to become the Elena we know. Ultimately, we need to answer the question of the cure - the cure is still out there. And once Elena is back to being regular Elena Gilbert, with her emotions and her humanity, the question is hanging over our heads: were her feelings for Damon due to the sire bond? Were they real? Does she still love Stefan? So she has to answer that question, which is the big emotional journey for her this season.

The Vampire Diaries has never been afraid to kill off main characters, as we have seen time and again. Will everyone who was alive as of the prom episode survive the end of the season?

Um..... no. You know everything can’t go that well! There is always a body count.

That is one of the things I love about Vampire Diaries. It is “realistic” in the sense that, unlike in other TV shows, not everyone makes it to the end; they don’t all get out of their sticky situations. I think that is what keeps the show exciting and keeps viewers on their toes.

Yeah, it totally does. What I realized when I first started working on this show is that what really makes this show pop is that it lives in the truth. The truth is an ugly, uncomfortable place. Rather than running from it, you just charge into it, and that is where the best stories come from. That’s why I think Damon pops off the page so much, because he just says truthful things. They are hurtful, but that is what makes it shocking.

What can you tell us about The Originals pilot that airs this week?

It feels like [Vampire Diaries] but it has a new layer to it because it is set in New Orleans. It has a different vibe to it and it’s own set of characters. It’s a very compelling show. I feel like it was well done and a very interesting story.

If The Originals goes to series, will there be crossover episodes?

Yes. The plan is to do some crossover episodes. We don’t have any specifics yet.

The Vampire Diaries has already been picked up for a fifth season. Have you guys started breaking scripts yet? Do you know what will happen after the kids graduate?

Yeah. Even though we are done with season four story-wise, we do this thing called “Vampire Diaries Boot Camp.” We gather in the writer’s room, and now that we don’t have to deal with production phone calls and writing scripts, we just have full days of brainstorming the big ideas of the next season. That is what we are in the process of doing right now. We are thinking of the big stuff: Elena is going to go to college, which will be huge, but we want to keep it grounded in Mystic Falls as well. Obviously Damon isn’t going to go to college; but Caroline and Bonnie and Elena are roommates.... We want to keep the stories intertwined, and not just have separate college storylines.

A lot of shows set in high school seem to have a difficult time making that transition to college. Are you at all worried about that? I mean, truly, Vampire Diaries stopped being about high school long ago.

I think we will handle college the way we handle high school. They’re not going to be sitting in class every five minutes, but we are hyper-aware of it. We want to make sure the season feels fresh and new, like we are starting at a new place in Elena’s life. That’s what we like about college. What we don’t like about it is having these isolated college people in one place, then these other people in another place. So the challenge for us is to make sure all the storylines are intertwining and keeping the ensemble alive.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Rebekah to Help Klaus in The Originals?

In The Originals — The Vampire Diaries spin-off pilot airing Thursday — Rebekah has a choice to make, Claire Holt tells TV Fanatic.
Klaus (Joseph Morgan) — who isn’t the Original sis’s favorite supernatural right now — is headed to New Orleans in Season 4, Episode 20. There are witches plotting against him, and he could probably use some sibling back up. In a sneak peek, Bex tells Elijah (Daniel Gillies) she hopes the spellcasters have found a way to kill their brother for good.
"Rebekah has such a strong sense of loyalty," Claire tells TV Fanatic. "She receives information about Klaus and his quest and she wants to go and help… but she feels betrayed."
She won’t tell whether Rebekah ends up in the French Quarter or not, but if The Originals becomes a series, she’s definitely packing her bags. It’s a little bittersweet for Claire. "I'd like her to go to New Orleans," she says. "But I'd also like her to get it on with Matt."
The two shared a moment in Season 4, Episode 19, “Pictures of You.” Will there be more between them? Claire teases, “It's going to be hard for him to forgive her, but she won't stop trying. I think fans will really like where their relationship goes.”
To the bedroom? Poor Matt didn’t even get lucky on prom night.

Vampire Diaries' Morgan: "The Originals" Will Explore a Vulnerability in Klaus' Personal Life

The Vampire Diaries' upcoming episode (and backdoor pilot) "The Originals" is bringing a whole new flavor to the series, says star Joseph Morgan.

"Tonally, it's a little different," Morgan tells TVGuide.com. "The Vampire Diaries is a coming-of-age story and "The Originals," like Julie [Plec] has said, is more like The Lost Boys, embracing the nature of being a vampire where you party all night and sleep all day. It's really about these guys who want to be vampires as opposed to the guilt and remorse the weight of that which comes with The Vampire Diaries."

Must-watch finales: Scoop on 39 season-enders

When Klaus receives a message from Katherine (Nina Dobrev) that a witch in New Orleans is plotting against him, he travels to the Big Easy to reunite with his former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and perhaps reclaim the city that was once his.

"Klaus is a fan of manipulation, and he makes a few direct challenges throughout the episode, and there are a few displays of violence," Morgan says. "The interesting thing to see will be who he's willing to work with to get where he wants to be and what commitments he's willing to make to them. Klaus is very much a lone wolf, he'll side with someone for a certain amount of time and then next thing he'll be siding with someone else against them."

Joining Klaus on his new mission is his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who will be elated to learn he has a reason to keep his family together. "There are elements of the story line that come out which will absolutely explore more of a potential for vulnerability in his personal life and his relationship with family," Morgan says. "Elijah really wants to bring the family together, and he's come to a point where he's realized that the strength they have is with each other. Rebekah and Klaus are very much at odds, so Elijah finds himself a little bit of a middleman."

Season MVPs: The year's best

Although the future of "The Originals" remains to be seen, Morgan says he can't think about the possibility of the pilot not going to series, even if Plec told us she has "a glorious character story for him to tell in the world of Mystic Falls" should the spin-off not happen.

"Everyone at the moment is moving forward as if it will go to series, which I think is the way to go," he says. "I have to proceed that way, because however 'glorious' the [story line] is, I think it'll be a disappointment for me to happen."

And as for Klaus' future as it pertains to Caroline (Candice Accola) and the decision he will make about Tyler (Michael Trevino)? Morgan tells us, "I don't want to say either way where it's going to go, because that's ultimately Klaus' contribution to the finale, making that choice, but I feel like it's not the end of the Klaus-Caroline storyline, but I feel like it's a satisfying place to leave it at the end of the season."

Regardless, Morgan admits that the backdoor pilot never could've happened had it not been for the fans. After all, Klaus was originally intended to be killed off in Season 3!

"I'm so excited for people to meet the new characters and see this new world and what this could be, should it go to series," Morgan says. "I don't think I would have this opportunity if the fans hadn't responded so warmly to Klaus, an old villain, so I really appreciate everyone's support and I hope this is something of a thank you to them."

Vampire Diaries Exclusive: Claire Holt on The Originals, The Cure and Getting It on With Matt

Rebekah vs. ElijahWill she or won't she?
That's the question that will be facing Rebekah on Thursday's special episode of The Vampire Diaries, as Elijah explains to her why Klaus has headed to New Orleans and this Original beauty must decide if she'll join him there or not.
"Rebekah has such a strong sense of loyalty," Claire Holt told me over the phone. "She receives information about Klaus and his quest and she wants to go and help… but she feels betrayed. And for good reason.
Klaus really laid into his sister last week, effectively ruining her prom and mocking her yearning for the cure. Does that desire still exist? Oh yes.
"We've seen Rebekah throughout her time in Mystic Falls really craving true love," Holt said. "She's seeking loyalty and she clearly can't get it from her family. So she's looking for it somewhere else and thinks that if she's human, she'll find it."
After all, as The Originals can attest to, "being immortal is pretty lonely," Holt said.
Might Rebekah find what she's searching for in a certain fellow senior? One who often wears a varsity jacket and works tirelessly at The Grill?
"Matt realizes there are some parts to Rebekah that are soft and good-natured and loving," Holt teases. "It's going to be hard for him to forgive her, but she won't stop trying. I think fans will really like where their relationship goes."
And where will Rebekah be going? While the actress refused to divulge her character's future, she has been cast in The Originals, of course, assuming The CW orders this pilot to series.
"I'd like her to go to New Orleans," Holt admitted. "But I'd also like her to get it on with Matt."
Fortunately, if Matt is left behind in Mystic Falls - destined to flip burgers and make drinks for at least another year - Holt will still end up across from two actors she adores.
"Daniel Gillies is the most difficult person to shoot scenes with," she said. "I can never keep a straight face. He can make me laugh at anything and he's just relentless."
Both Gillies and Joseph Morgan are "such great, kind, wonderful, generous human beings," Holt said. "And they are also gorgeous. It's never a hard day at the office working with them and I feel so blessed that I get to continue on this journey with those two."

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Who’s in Danger in Season 4, Episode 21?

Matt in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 21: “She’s Come Undone!”Eek! The Vampire Diaries spoilers from TV Guide below!
Oh to the no. Someone is in danger in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 21, “She’s Come Undone.” Even though the Salvatores are torturing Elena (Nina Dobrev), she’s not the one we’re worried about.
According to TV Guide, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) realizes that his and Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) plan to brutalize the baby vamp back into feeling isn’t working. Elena seems to know that Damon would never really hurt her — but the same doesn’t hold true for her friends.
Damon has been angling to kill Matt (Zach Roerig) ever since he survived the crash over Wickery Bridge and Elena didn’t. It was only Elena’s intervention that saved the human — but will he get a second chance? The elder Salvatore seems to think imperiling the QB is the perfect way to make Elena feel things.
Excuse us, Damon. But this plan is terrible. The girl is already ho-hum about Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Even pictures of her with her dead bro didn’t make Elena blink. And she already nearly killed both her best friends with her own fangs. Why should Matt be any different?
Ugh. They wouldn’t really kill Matty off this close to graduation, would they? You know he’s going to shock us all and be valedictorian with a letter announcing he’s got a full ride to Duke in his pocket.

Vampire Diaries’ Joseph Morgan on The Originals and Klaus Leaving — Exclusive

Joseph Morgan Looking Dapper in a Three-Piece SuitIt’s been an amazing week for Joseph Morgan (Klaus) — and it’s only Wednesday. Not only did his movie Warhouse get distribution and the film he directed, Revelation, get into the New York City International Film Festival, the pilot for The Originals airs Thursday, April 25.
The Vampire Diaries spin-off sees Klaus heading back to New Orleans to investigate a plot against him. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Joseph, we couldn’t wait to ask him all about the new show, especially how it differs from TVD.

Wetpaint Entertainment: We’re excited about Thursday's episode.
Joseph Morgan: Me, too. It's been a long time coming, so I'm very excited for everyone to see it.

It looks just from the teasers alone so different from TVD.
I think in terms of the looks of it, I know the director, Chris Grismer, really wanted to bring out the color of New Orleans, so it retained some of that kind of shadowy quality of Vampire Diaries, but it absolutely has more colors and more vibrancy to it. It's less muted. And then, also tonally, it's got a more adult tone to it. It's a little darker. Vampire Diaries is much more of a coming-of-age story, and this is more about people, supernatural creatures that really embrace what they are, who love to be vampires. So it's a little different, yeah.

It's hard to come of age when you're all hundreds of years old. Are we talking about adults here?
Absolutely, yeah, that's true. There's no prom in The Originals.

What can you tell us about the plotline of the pilot?
The French Quarter of New Orleans was a town that Klaus built with Marcel, his protégé. And when Klaus and his family were forced to leave New Orleans behind, Marcel stayed and built it as he saw fit. And he managed to rise up in power and control the witches and drive out the werewolves and really run the town. So when Klaus hears that one of the witches is plotting against him, his ego gets the better of him. And he goes back to New Orleans to find out who that is and to nip it in the bud. And in doing so, he runs into his old friend Marcel and starts to realize that this guy, this vampire has got everything he wanted.
And Marcel is now running this town, in a way is king of this town, and Klaus is still scrabbling in Mystic Falls, thinking, “What am I doing? Wait a second. This is something I want.” And he's prone to jealousy and envy and all of those more negative types of traits anyway. So I think that Marcel is a little bit of a show-off, shall we say, in terms of showing Klaus what he has and what Klaus could have had. And so, Klaus rises to that bait. He doesn't like it, so he wants it back.

If we're talking strict hierarchy, it was Klaus who turned Marcel. So technically, they shouldn't be each other's equals, but is there a power struggle at this point between the two of them?
Well, I mean, Klaus is by far the more powerful being. He's an Original vampire. Plus he's a hybrid, so he has that on Marcel. But Marcel runs the town, so he has all of the vampires in the town who work for him. That's over a hundred vampires. Plus, he's in control of the witches. None of the witches can do magic without his say-so. So that's a huge.

What kind of stories do you see there being told if The Originals is a go, and it turns into a separate show?
I would hope over the course of the seasons that there would be potential for it to be a story of Klaus's salvation. I think from the point where we brought him in from where he started, and then those little cracks we've seen in his kind of villain demeanor, I think there's potential there to be redeemed. And I think this whole season of Vampire Diaries has been a setup.
I love the scene where Caroline says to him, “Anyone who is capable of love is capable of being saved.” If I were to make the decisions — which I don't — that would be the buzz line for him, for the season. But our storyline, the Original storyline has always been family and the ties that bind us and the idea that we can do these horrible, terrible things to each other, but no one, woe betide the person who steps on our toes, who comes in trying to challenge one of us, then we're all thick as thieves. So I think it would really be the power struggle with the family and everyone else outside the family and also the dynamics within the family. I mean, it's on a more epic scale. Even the pilot teased a war between the witches and the vampires. So I'd very much like to explore this genre, but on a more kind of epic scale, like less coming of age and more like this.

Will we get flashbacks in the first episode?
Not in the new pilot. There's so much there, coming to a new city and introducing all these new characters, but should we go to series, I think, I'm almost positive we'll have flashbacks. I mean, there's a wealth of history to explore there. So yeah, absolutely the series, but no, not in the pilot.
As a character, do you see Klaus going back to Mystic Falls if the New Orleans thing doesn't work out? Can he just sort of go back and hang?
I mean, I don't personally. I mean I understand his reason for staying behind in Mystic Falls so long with unfinished business, and we've seen him pack his stuff about three times and then not quite leave. For me, the idea of a 1,000-year-old being choosing Mystic Falls as a place to live or to settle down is not as realistic as somewhere like New York or London or Paris or New Orleans. I think he's showing himself to be a man of culture, a man who appreciates art and music and all of these things as well as graphic displays of violence. So I think certainly a city which embodies all of that would be more likely to be his permanent home.

If you could take someone with you from the Mystic Falls world into this world —
What are you fishing for now with this question? If I could take one of the random characters from Mystic Falls, who would I take with me? Come on, what are you looking for here? I would take Sheriff Forbes, definitely. No. Obviously, Klaus would take Caroline. I think that's the person who he's interested in. He's seen the thing through with Stefan in terms of their friendship, and he’s realized that Stefan isn't the ripper anymore. He fought that stuff so hard when Klaus tried to bring him back to who he was, and I think there's unfinished business with him and Caroline. So I think he would absolutely if he could take one person take her, but then you knew that anyway.

As a character, it seems like Klaus can take or leave Mystic Falls and not feel so bad about it. But as you, the actor, how do you feel about leaving TVD, potentially?
This show, it goes without saying, it’s changed my life. It's utterly opened me up to an audience who probably would have never seen anything I've done, and now, it seems like everything I've ever done is on YouTube. So I'm eternally grateful to the show. I think I've been playing sort of B-storylines for a long time because there's only so much of Klaus we can see in Vampire Diaries. Because the show is about Damon and Stefan and Elena, and it should be about them. It started about those, and it should finish about those. And I don't think there's room to expand more upon my character in that show. So for me, I'm really excited to be moving into a show that we can learn more about him, and I'm really hopeful that they will exploit the crossover angle as much as they can. I'm perfectly willing, should my schedule allow it, for Klaus to make sporadic appearances in Mystic Falls, and I think they would be missing a trick if they didn't bring a few of the characters, perhaps even the one I talked about earlier, over to New Orleans for an episode or two at least.
But yeah, personally, I think this is the right time. I feel like if Klaus stays in Mystic Falls, and our heroes don't kill him — because he's never going to be on the same page entirely as our heroes; they're always going to be at odds — it just makes them look weak and stupid. I don't think anybody wants the heroes to look weak and stupid. So I think it's time for Klaus to branch out. I think for me as an actor as well. The challenge of having more screen time and heading up a show is certainly one.

So the fourth time he packs his bag, he's really leaving, man.
He's really leaving now. No one believes him because he's cried wolf so many times, but yeah, he's really going. He's packed up his stuff, and he's heading out.

What about Warhouse and Revelation. Is there anything we should know about that?
Yeah, Warhouse has gotten distribution. They just released the press today, actually. So it's on the IMDb site for Warhouse now. We've got distribution, and we've got US distribution as well. I think it's going to be very limited cinema release, then On Demand and so on and so forth. That after all the patience of everybody waiting to see that film. That's coming out there.

And Revelation, we just yesterday found out that we got into the New York City International Film Festival. So that's the third film festival we've got into now in competition. Now, I'm just trying to collect the laurels like a badge of honor to put on the web poster, but I'm really excited. We played at Atlanta, and we're doing Los Angeles Fear and Fantasy. And we're doing New York City International Film Festival as well. I really feel like I'm kind of blessed at the moment. It's a really wonderful time.

Daniel Gillies Wants You to Watch The Vampire Diaries Originals Pilot

Elijah and Sophie in The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The OriginalsDo you know what Thursday is? It’s Vampire Diaries Thursday! Only this week, things are a little different.

On April 25, The CW will broadcast the pilot for The Originals. The TVD spin-off may get picked up as a series for the fall, and all the actors involved are excited.

Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and Claire Holt are bringing their Vampire Diaries characters — Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah, respectively — to the show. Daniel has been getting his Twitter followers ready for the pilot.

“So I’ll pick you up Thursday, around 8. We’ll go someplace killer. I’ll be the one in the suit. Xx,” he tweeted. Now we’re just blushing.

Then he teased a little more info. “Took a glimpse at what you folks have coming your way this week,” he wrote. “Uh... You should probably clear your schedule Friday through forever.”

We don’t even know what that means, but as long as Gillies is still in a suit, we’re good. Speaking of which, Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) knows what’s up. Last week, she wrote on her own Twitter: “I got to see some of the #originals today during ADR.....SPOILER ALERT: @danieljgillies wears a three piece suit like no one else.”

We’re sure there are other things in The Originals to look forward to besides Daniel in a suit. We’ll have to get back to you after we’re done swooning, though.

Ian Somerhalder Looks Hot in Vampire Diaries Yearbook: TVD Cute Pic of the Day!

Ian Somerhalder Shares Hot Photo From the Vampire Diaries YearbookYou know that you get a yearbook at the end of every school year, but did you know that the Vampire Diaries cast and crew apparently get one too?

On Tuesday, April 23, Ian Somerhalder shared a photo straight from the pages of one such annual — an adorable behind-the-scenes look at Season 3, Episode 16: “1912.”

“From the Vampire Diaries Year book,” Ian explained. “With two more years [of the show] to go I’m technically still a sophomore...”

We’ve never known a sophomore that looks anything like Ian. If we did, we probably would’ve paid more attention in school!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Season 4 Finale — Another Original?

The Originals Are Ready for the Ball in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 14, "Dangerous Liaisons"Hold your horses! The Vampire Diaries spoilers from TVLine below!

“Can I graduate?” Truant Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Third Eye Blind won’t be the only ones singing that ‘90s hit come The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation.”

According to TVLine, Rebekah (Claire Holt) wants to tick off yet another milestone on her “Wish I was human” list. Julie Plec says she’ll “just trying like hell to graduate and have that true-life human experience.” Poor thing. We expect to find her sobbing into her ball gown after Silas tricked Elijah (Daniel Gillies) into giving away the cure.

Yet there are more pressing matters in Mystic Falls than Bex’s immortality. Julie also teases, “We’ll get a surprise visit from at least one more Original.”

Stop. The. Presses. If the veil between this world and the Other Side comes a-tumbling down, which member of the family will step across the line?

Esther (Alice Evans)? The witch definitely wants vengeance on her children. Mikael (Sebastian Roché)? Original papa is still probably pretty peeved at Klaus (Joseph Morgan) for killing him. Finn (Caspar Zafer)? Eh, he’s probably too busy canoodling with Sage (Cassidy Freeman).

Then there’s always Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic). Fans have been chomping at the bit to see his pretty face again. Earlier this month, Julie tweeted, “I've already said there's a chance we'll see Kol again. To say anymore would be either a spoiler or a lie.”

Mysterious! Which Original do you think comes back?

Vampire Diaries’ Joseph Morgan’s Warhouse to Be Released in Theaters

Joseph Morgan Stars in WarhouseGreat news! We’ve been wondering when we’d finally get to see Joseph Morgan’s movie Warhouse, and Variety reports it will be released in theaters soon.

The movie, which stars The Vampire Diaries actor and Matt Ryan, is part of “XLRator’s US distribution slate,” according to Variety. They’ll release the film later this year.

Directed by Luke Massey, Joseph plays AJ Budd, a Royal Marine locked in a strange house. Each day, a nightmarish scenario repeats as he fights for his life against not-quite-human opponents.

Budd finds the journals of a World War I lieutenant, Edward Sterling (Ryan), who suffered the same fate. Though the man’s words comfort Budd, he’s desperate to know what became of the author.

Joseph is thrilled that fans will soon be able to see the movie. He’s been tweeting up a storm since the news came out.

While there’s no official release date yet, you can check out the trailer — which came out in October 2011 — below. Joseph tweeted that he considers it some of his best work.

Joseph’s co-star Daniel Gillies (Elijah) also had some great news about two of his own movies. Banner day for The Originals! Congratulations!
