Fans of Caroline (Candice Accola) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) are getting nervous. The Vampire Diaries only has two more episodes in Season 4, which doesn’t leave much time for the two to actually get together.
In Season 5, Klaus will be in New Orleans — or more accurately, on his own spin-off, The Originals. The question of whether or not the not-quite couple can survive a long-distance not-quite relationship depends on whether they make strides in these last two episodes. Certainly things have improved since he killed Carol Lockwood, but with her romantic moment with Tyler (Michael Trevino) still fresh in her mind it doesn’t seem likely Caroline will hop into bed with Klaus just because it’s graduation.
Still, she seemed confused and hurt that the Original left without saying goodbye when she ran into Silas-as-Klaus in the woods. Something has been developing between them since the hybrid saved her life on her birthday.
If you’re hoping Candice Accola can shed some light on the subject, we have to tell you she’s being cryptic as heck. She told Hollywood Life, “Caroline is going to learn this valuable lesson: Sometimes when you get what you want, it’s not actually what you want.”
Then there are those photos from The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 23, “Graduation.” It certainly looks like Klaus is leaning in for a kiss. Perhaps it’s his farewell before he leaves for New Orleans — and his future child — for good. But even if they do lock lips, will it be enough to satisfy Klaroline fans?
Maybe — if the moment forced Caroline to acknowledge her conflicted feelings.
