Nina Dobrev Style Watch: Her Best Red Carpet Dresses & Looks (PHOTOS)

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Katherine’s Hilarious?

Katherine Looks Worried in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22: "The Walking Dead"
The Vampire Diaries Season 5 premiere is less than a month away, and we can’t wait to see what TVD has in store for us. Give Me My Remote sat down with executive producer Caroline Dries to talk all the new developments in Mystic Falls. What deets did the EP spill?
Caroline said that the most surprisingly delightful characters in Season 5 are big baddies Katherine (Nina Dobrev) and Silas (Paul Wesley). The former is busy dealing with her newly reclaimed humanity and is not having the best time of it: “She’s still Katherine, but she’s the best vampire and the worst human,” said Caroline. “So she’s just a delight to write. Brian [Young] wrote Episode 2, where we see a side of Katherine that is just hilarious.”
While Katherine is more or less miserable in her new role, Silas is apparently having a great time impersonating Stefan (Paul Wesley) while his “shadow self” is getting pruny at the bottom of a nearby quarry: “Originally we were thinking, ‘Maybe he doesn’t say that much. Or he really kind of keeps to himself,’” revealed Caroline. “But that’s not fun to write. So Paul [Wesley] brings a fun personality to [Silas] and I think he’s popping.”
But it’s not all fun and games on the Silas front. In the Comic Con preview for Season 5, attendees were treated to a sneak peek that saw Silas-as-Stefan compelling an entire town gathering to do his bidding. According to Caroline, he’s only improving upon that ability moving forward: “Yeah, that’s his power; he’s immortal, [but] it’s like, you better exploit that psychic thing, because being immortal is — we have enough immortal people on our show. So he figures out a learning curve in the premiere. And he becomes a scary character, because if someone can anticipate what you’re going to do, that’s the worst villain.”
How long will Silas be able to keep up his Stefan act without anyone realizing he is not actually the younger Salvatore brother? From the sounds of it, not too long. Though Caroline wouldn’t reveal an actual time frame past “fairly soon,” she did say that the “characters are very smart and they have a lot of resources as their disposal. So one by one they figure it out. But it’s in an order that is kind of detrimental to some of the main characters.”

'Vampire Diaries' spoilers: Paul Wesley teases the changes Silas will bring

"Vampire Diaries" is ready to add a new doppelganger to the mix on CW, and now a member of the cast is teasing what is to come on the upcoming season. On Wednesday, Sept. 4, TV Fanatic shared a new interview with Paul Wesley about the challenges he will face taking on two characters next season. Stefan will return, but Wesley will also take on his doppelganger as well. Check out previously released photos of the cast here and here.
Silas will have a huge impact. Stefan will not be out of the safe for a bit, and when he is released from his watery grave he will be very hungry, according to Wesley. The biggest impact Silas will have on things will be with the dynamic between Damon and the man he thinks is his brother.
Damon will not know right away that it is Silas. Damon has always treated Stefan like the 'little brother' on the series, and now fans will see a definite power shift where the fake Stefan will treat Damon like the younger brother.
Paul Wesley had a small teaser for Katherine's journey during season five. She is now a human, and he revealed that this will cause her to lose her 'pizazz' on the series. He did tease that fans will see her interact with one of his characters. That was teased briefly during the new season five preview.

Vampire Diaries’ Kat Graham Shows Off Toned Body in Barely-There Leather Outfit (PHOTO)

Kat Graham's Crazy Leather Look: Vampire Diaries Star Bares All
Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham is notorious for wild and crazy looks, but she took things to a whole new level over Labor Day weekend.
While partying at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, she wore a leather bralette and jean shorts — actually, shorts on top that transitioned into severely ripped jeans. It looks like she took a pair of pants, cut out the front middle of the denim, and then carefully slid them on. Up top, you see a fringe and her tan, toned thighs, and then her calves are hidden by material. Interesting.
Striking a pose in her hotel room for an Instagram pic, her new septum piercing and chopped off hair is on full display, finishing off her look with John Lennon-style sunglasses. We can see a little bit of her abs and the rest of her toned body, save for her legs, which are partially covered up.
Don’t get us wrong — we love when Kat tries out new looks, but this is some next level out-there fashion. What do you think of her barely-there attire?

Ian Somerhalder “Sweating My Ass Off” in Season 5 Behind-the-Scenes Photo

Ian Somerhalder's Behind-the-Scenes Photo from TVD Season 5
Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries doesn’t premiere until October 3, but that doesn’t mean the cast isn’t hard at work filming all the episodes right now — well, everyone except Nina Dobrev who is apparently having the time of her life in Japan. But thanks to the sexiest vampire in the world, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), we keep getting sneak peeks behind the scenes of TVD.

In his latest Instagram photo, Ian took a selfie in a car. While he looks just as hunky as ever, according to the caption it’s a little hot in there — and no, it isn’t just Ian. “Live from the Vampire Diaries set,” he captioned the photo. “Damon Salvatore sweating his ass off in a picture car while sneaking a selfie for fans…”

We are definitely glad Ian is willing to suffer through the heat to make his fans happy. It will definitely be interesting to see what Damon is going to be up to this season, especially with Elena Gilbert (Nina) away at Whitmore college. Maybe he’s in the car because he’s going to see her? We can only hope that they can have a little bit of dorm room fun.

The Vampire Diaries: The 11 Biggest Twists of All Time!

Stefan and Elena at the Original Ball:
The Vampire Diaries is composed almost entirely of twists, but there are some that stand out more than others. You know the ones we’re talking about: the kind that manage to both take viewers by surprise and make complete sense. Well, TVD has them in spades. Here are the 10 biggest TVD twists of all time. Brace yourself for a lot of neck-snapping!

Damon snaps Vicki’s neck

Way back in Season 1, Damon was a lean, mean killing machine. He was biting people left and right. But that doesn’t mean we were expecting him to snap Vicki Donovan’s neck! To we naive Season 1 viewers, Vicki was a main character and you don’t just turn main characters into vampires willy nilly. Boy were we naive. With the first human-to-vampire conversion on TVD, the show lured us into a false sense security. We watched Vicki and Damon party all night until when Vicki breaks down to Damon about how much her life sucks - Damon agrees, seemingly making an in-the-moment decision to snap her neck. You gotta love his Season 1 spontaneity.

Katherine isn’t in the tomb

With everything that’s happened since, sometimes it’s easy to forget that Damon spent the entire first season trying to open a tomb that Katherine had allegedly been trapped in for 145 years. Psych! It turns out Katherine had flirted her way out of a century-and-a-half of entombment and desiccation. While Damon spent that time mooning after his long-lost love, Katherine was busy gallivanting the globe. Ouch.

Katherine chops off John’s fingers

Few make an entrance like Katherine Pierce. After appearing only in flashback form in the series, Katherine makes her present-day entrance by assuming Elena’s identity, making out with Damon on the Gilbert front porch, and then stabbing Uncle John and it is all played out perfectly. The season finale’s final scene starts as a heart-to-heart between “Elena” and her biological father, John. John opens up about Elena’s mother and the mistakes he’s made, while Katherine-pretending-to-be-Elena listens...until she gets bored, takes one of the kitchen knives, and, um, removes the Gilbert ring from John’s finger before stabbing him properly. Trust us: this scene is worth a re-watch.

Katherine turns Caroline

In the TVD tradition of turning people when we least expect it, Season 2 starts off with a bang when in an attempt to relay her seriousness to Elena Katherine kills her best friend. Luckily, Caroline has Damon’s blood in her system and turns into a vamp instead of totally biting it (in the figurative sense). This twist gets points not only because it was surprising, but because it paid off so well. We loved Caroline’s snark in the first season, but watching her shed (most of) her insecurities and turn into a badass vamp version of her awesome self has been one of the best parts of this show.

Klaus kills Jenna

When Klaus turns Jenna into a vampire, we assumed TVD was going to get some narrative mileage out of watching Elena’s aunt deal with her vampirism. Nope! Literally minutes after the Jenna-as-vampire reveal happens, Klaus sacrifices Elena’s legal guardian in the name of some curse-breaking ceremony. This show moves faster than Stefan on a blood lust bender.

Stefan saves Matt instead of Elena

In the Season 3 finale, Rebekah causes Matt’s truck to careen into the same river Elena’s parents died. Stefan dives in to save Elena, but she asks him to save Matt instead, and Stefan actually does it. This is the perfect twist in that it subverts the classic hero move (instead, perhaps, making Elena the hero), while also making narrative sense. Stefan has always let Elena make her own decisions, and respected them even if he doesn’t agree with them. We were impressed and shocked to see him continue that practice, even when it meant her death. Well played, TVD.

Elena turns into a vampire

In terms of sheer audacity and effect, Elena’s transition into a vampire is perhaps the biggest of TVD’s history of insane plot twists. We always knew this was a possibility, but we weren’t sure if TVD would be ballsy enough to turn its gateway character from human to vamp. Moral of the story: We never should have doubted TVD’s balls. Nor, their ability to make the change work. Elena’s vampirism gave the show a new and interesting direction.

Jeremy dies

There has been possibly no darker moment on TVD than the twist of Jeremy’s death. Sure, he doesn’t actually end up staying dead (more on that later), but we didn’t know that at the time! He looked particularly dead after Silas drains him of blood, then proceeds to snap his neck. Honorable mention for this twist list goes to the related moment when Elena burns her house down with Jeremy’s dead body in it.

Katherine gets the cure

We have to admit, we weren’t sure how the whole cure thing was going to play out - and we were getting a little sick of hearing about it. From the beginning, we really thought Damon was going to get it (and we’re kind of bummed he didn’t). But if it couldn’t be Damon, Katherine was an excellent choice - as was the manner in which it was delivered. We can’t think of a better revenge for than Elena shoving the cure for vampirism down Katherine’s throat, forcing the latter to turn human after 500 years as an immortal.

Bonnie trades her life for Jeremy’s

Just when we thought Jeremy was really gone for good, Bonnie pulls the old mortality switcheroo, trading her life for Jeremy’s. This scene is pretty tricky, with Jeremy giving a speech about he’s ready to move on. Not on Bonnie’s watch! We’re still waiting to see how this twist plays out as Bonnie is returning in Season 5 as a ghost only Jeremy can see, but we’re curious if this death will stick.

Stefan is Silas’s doppelganger

Another major, major plot twist that has us waiting for answers is the season-ending reveal that Stefan is Silas’ doppelganger, aka “his shadow self.” We’re still not really sure what this means, but we’re guessing it spells big changes for TVD mythology. Up until this point, we had assumed the Salvatore brothers were just men who stumbled into Katherine’s paths and became vampires for it, but it seems there’s more to the story…

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Stefan’s New “Beautiful and Exotic” Love Interest?

With The Vampire Diaries returning for Season 5 on October 3, we’re anxious to see what this season has in store for Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and his evil doppelganger Silas. What we didn’t expect was that it looks like there’s a new lady in town — we just don’t know which version of Paul she’s here for.
Executive producer Caroline Dries dished to TV Guide about Tessa, the new girl played by True Blood’s Janina Gavankar. According to Caroline, Tessa is “a beautiful and exotic self-assured woman who comes to town to rekindle an old flame.” While it might be easy to assume that she’s burning up for Stefan, remember that he’s currently drowning in a box, so maybe she’s heard word that big bad Silas is back in town and she’s coming for him.

But don’t just expect love to be the only thing Tessa has come to Mystic Falls for. “Tessa has a definite flair for fun,” Caroline teased. “But she has a tendency to hold a grudge. You don’t want to cross her.” Uh-oh, could she be coming to town to exact revenge on a former lover? We’ll have to see!

The Originals Spoiler: Will Klaus or Marcel Have a Sexy Assistant?

Klaus and Marcel in The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The Originals
More casting news spoilers for The Originals! Tammy Smith Casting put up a notice for the upcoming Vampire Diaries spin-off, asking for “a VERY HOT and SEXY WOMAN 18 to 35 all ethnicities, to play a HOT VAMPIRE ASS'T to one of our lead actors … MODELS or acting experience is preferred, but this woman needs to be very beautiful. Think sexy secretary!!”

Ooh. Intriguing! There aren’t many details, but the casting notice did say there’s a possibility that even though initially the assistant doesn’t have a speaking part, she may reappear at some point in later episodes.

We’re speculating that maybe Klaus (Joseph Morgan) or Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) has glamoured a hottie to attend to their needs, much like Damon did with news anchor Andie Star on TVD. Of course, with a variety of Mikaelsons in New Orleans this fall, that “assistant” could be for any one of them — maybe even Rebekah!

Too bad we have to wait until October 3 to find out.

Who’s assistant do you think they’re casting for? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Paul Wesley on New Dynamics, Power Shifts, and Mortal Katherine (VIDEO)

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoiler: Matt Donovan “Not a Peripheral Character This Season”

Matt Donovan
While Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries might look pretty bleak for our favorite Mystic Grill busboy Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) — you know, with summer lover Rebekah headed to New Orleans and their relationship at “an end.” But don’t worry about Matt, things are about to get really juicy for him!
According to TVLine, “[Matt is] not a peripheral character this season,” executive producer Caroline Dries teased. “He really has an interesting, intriguing storyline this year. We are introduced to it briefly in the season premiere.”

We can’t wait to see what’s going to happen to one of the last human characters on the show. With Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) heading off to college, the Mikaelsons heading to New Orleans, Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) walk on the “other side,” and the whole Stefan/Silas (Paul Wesley) drama going on, we hope there’s enough time for a human-focused storyline.

Vampire Diaries and Originals Star Claire Holt: Matt and Rebekah “Sadly Coming to an End”

Matt and Rebekah in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 3: "The Rager"
(Rebekah) is basically throwing a whole lot of holy water on the prospect of the all-American boy and sexy vamp sticking together come October 3.“I think that love affair is sadly coming to an end," she confirmed. "I can't imagine they're going to do long distance well. So, they had fun over the summer … it was a mutually beneficial, sweet relationship, but it's come to a natural end."

It would be a definite LDR with Rebekah heading to New Orleans and Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) sticking around Mystic Falls. With Rebekah in Nola, she’ll be diving into a sea of supernatural hotties, so the horizon is very bright for the original vampire. The one thing we can’t wait to see is Rebekah bringing a boy home to meet Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) — let the awkwardness begin!

Speaking of Klaus, will his sister be joining his forces in the war between him and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis)? “Who knows,” Claire teased. “Your guess is as good as mine. [Klaus has] betrayed her a number of times, so she may cross over to the dark side.”

We would absolutely love for Rebekah to get her hands dirty. There’s nothing guys love more than a sexy bad girl.

What do you think about Rebekah’s role on The Originals? Do you like where she’s heading, or do you want her to stick with Matt? Hit the comments and discuss!Source: KSiteTV

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: 3 Characters We Wish Weren't Returning

Bonnie Bennett
We’re pretty distraught that we’ll be losing some of our favorite The Vampire Diaries characters (not to mention ‘ships) to spin-off The Originals. Why can’t they take the boring characters we don’t care about? Here are three TVD characters we could live without in Season 5.

April Young

Sorry, April (Grace Phipps). We gave you a whole season to prove yourself interesting and all you could manage was following Matt around like a little lost puppy and repeatedly putting yourself in harm’s way. We had such hopes for this character, too! She had a past connection with Elena and co. and a potentially nefarious side connected to her dad’s super-shady mission. There are so many characters we like to hang out with on TVD, but April’s just not one of them. That being said, humans are a rare breed these days in Mystic Falls... We may need to keep April around just for the numbers.

Bonnie Bennett

We love Bonnie (Kat Graham) as much as the next TVD fan (i.e. more than random guest stars, but less than the rest of the main cast... too harsh?), but we can’t help but feel like her return is kind of a cop-out. We get that lots of people don’t stay dead on TVD, but Bonnie’s sacrifice for Jeremy feels diminished by the fact that she’ll still be hanging around Mystic Falls in her ghostly form, chatting it up with Jeremy. Maybe this plot device will serve in adding an interesting dynamic to the Bonnie character who has long been the judgy, live-draining force of TVD but we’re not counting on it. On the other hand, we’re not really sure what watching TVD would be like without our low-simmering annoyance with Bonnie.

Meredith Fell

Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) is nice and everything, but she hasn’t had much to do since Alaric died (R.I.P., Ric). We’re not sure if TVD even has any plans to bring Meredith’s character back in Season 5, but we hope not.* We like that she’s helped the gang out post-Alaric’s death (most notably and heartbreakingly when she tries to explain to Elena that Jeremy is, in fact, dead), but her character doesn’t have anywhere to go narratively without a serious boost in screen time that we’re guessing TVD doesn’t have to give. Plus, we selfishly want more Torrey on Pretty Little Liars, where she is used to much greater effect as Melissa Hastings.
*Sadly, there may be a real-life reason for a lack of Season 5 as Torrey has officially split with husband Paul Wesley (Stefan).

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Will Stelena’s “Cosmic Connection” Rekindle Romance?

Stefan and Elena in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 5: “The Killer”
Stelena fans, don’t let your ‘shipper love die just yet! Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries may have ignited Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert’s intense desire for each other, but that doesn’t mean that this love triangle will be collapsing in Season 5.
According to TV Guide, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) might not be over their epic fling — and it’s going to help her realize that something is fishy with Silas posing as her former beau. “She has this weird feeling something is going on,” Nina said. “It’s this cosmic connection you have with someone that you’ve spent so much time with and I don’t know if it will go away.”

But it definitely seems like the love between Elena and Stefan has definitely turned into anything but passionate. “She knows she’s in love with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), but she still cares for Stefan and wants to make sure he’s OK … and when she finds out what he’s been through, it’s not easy for her,” Nina continues.

We have to agree. Drowning at the bottom of a quarry while your evil doppelganger is wreaking havoc on your world does kinda suck, doesn’t it?

Do you wish Elena would get back with Stefan, or should she stick with Damon? Hit the comments to let us know exactly what you think!

The Vampire Diaries Burning Question: What Would Mystic Falls Be Like Without Stefan?

Stefan Salvatore’s Senior Quote
The Vampire DiariesMystic Falls just isn’t small enough for only one Salvatore brother. It needs both to survive and thrive! We faced the possibility of a Damon-less Mystic Falls way back in Season 2, and we were freaking out about it. But, we’re equally dismayed about the reality of a Mystic Falls without Damon’s sour patch younger brother. With Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) currently residing on Locked Box Road, Abandoned Quarryville, how has Mystic Falls been faring without him?

Speciality hair shop goes out of business

Without Stefan’s business to keep it afloat, Hero Hair, Mystic Falls’ specialty shop devoted exclusively to selling Stefan hair products goes under. Shop owner Becky Letourneau returns to her less-lucrative career as an anesthesiologist. No word on how Stefan’s hair will survive its post-quarry re-entrance into society.

Mystic Falls High Class of 2017’s numbers down

Without Stefan to start high school over again as an incoming freshman, the Class of 2017’s numbers are down before school even begins. Silas’ massacre on the town common further cuts down class size. Parents rejoice over the much improved student-to-teacher ratio, while guidance counselor Tim McCue laments his failure to start a school year with the entirety of the registered student body alive.

Caroline’s sleepovers suck

With Silas as Stefan not returning any of Caroline’s phone calls, Caroline needs a new BFF to vent to. She is forced to confide in Elena, but the sleepovers just aren’t the same. Elena doesn’t know any of Steroline’s inside jokes, makes terrible popcorn, and doesn’t appreciate Caroline and Stefan’s most-treasured sleepover tradition: prank-calling Damon.

The neckline wars begin

Without Stefan to keep the V-neck shirt fad going in Mystic Falls, residents aren’t sure which neckline to imitate. In the t-shirt fashion vacuum, the town is torn between following Jeremy’s example of the classic white tank and Elena’s go-to Henley look. An inadvertent Gilbert clash erupts, with things coming to a head when April Young burns all of Elena’s Henley’s. Damon retaliates by drawing unicorns on all of Jeremy’s tanks. His plan backfires and unicorn-enhanced tank tops take off in Mystic Falls.

Vampire Diaries Season 5: Elena Gilbert’s Behind-the-Scenes Photo Revealed!

Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert in Season 5 Behind-the-Scenes Promo
We’ve always been obsessed with Nina Dobrev and her Vampire Diaries on-screen alter ego Elena Gilbert, but after seeing this behind-the-scenes photo from Season 5 of the CW hit show, we’re absolutely head-over-heels in love with her.
In the photo, released on TVD’s Twitter account on September 3, Nina is sporting a little black dress and gently caressing a very chic antler chandelier. She looks totally gorg in this promo shot for the upcoming season, but we definitely know that this is about as fancy as we’ll see Elena this season.

With Elena and her bestie Caroline (Candice Accola) headed to Whitmore College, we know Elena will stick to her basic wardrobe: pants and blouses — she’s definitely not a girly girl, especially since she turned into a vamp.

Of course, college has typically been known as a time to reinvent oneself, so maybe Elena is going to turn into a glamazon this year — though our money is on her rocking jeans and a Whitmore sweatshirt while she’s not going to class.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5: 3 Things We Want For Human Katherine

Katherine Looks Worried in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22: "The Walking Dead"
Whether you love her, or love to hate her, Katherine Pierce is going to have a significant role in Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries. Hopefully, this means we’ll actually start getting to know Elena’s doppelganger as someone more than just a life ruiner (although, it sounds like she’s still out to foil Damon and Elena’s love lives).
For the last four seasons, Katherine only cared about one thing: herself. And after buying her freedom from Klaus with the cure, she thought she was finally home free — until Elena poured the cure down her throat in the final minutes of the Season 4 finale, effectively turning her into a human. Sorry ‘bout it, Katerina! Now, it looks like for the first time, she’ll have to rely on someone else for her safety.
Katherine coming to terms with her humanity is one of the more exciting storylines of Season 5, so here are three things we want for human Katherine in the series’s fifth season.
1. No more games. If there’s one thing Katherine excels at, it’s playing games. Usually, her games are a means to an end, and we have no doubt Katherine will continue to play her mind games well into Season 5. (Case in point: coming in between Delena!) However, without her vampire abilities, she’s going to have to learn that when you mess with the bull, you get the horns. For once, we’d like to see Katherine be vulnerable. We saw a tiny bit of her softer side when Katherine gives Elijah the cure, no strings attached. Unfortunately, she got her heart broken when Elijah left Katherine for New Orleans (Kalijah fans, we’re still upset, too), but for about five seconds, we saw the real
Katherine — no games in sight — and we’d like to see her come back.
2. Friends. Katherine has spent the last 500 years running from Klaus, completely alone. Her inability to trust anyone other than herself means she’s left a trail of scorned men along the way. We love to see Katherine start to actually build friendships now that she’s a human. After all, she doesn’t have eternity anymore, and time is oh so short. We know Katherine will shack up with Damon in Chateau Salvatore once Elena leaves for college (Damon always had a soft spot for Katherine, didn’t he?), but we’d love to see her start to become friends with Mystic Falls’ resident All-American human, Matt Donovan. Sure, we know his loyalties lie with exes Elena and Caroline, but it would be nice to see Matt help Katherine cope with her humanity. Plus, sparks could totally fly between these two. Hey, stranger things have happened!
3. Reconcile with Elena. OK, so we don’t see this happening any time soon, but we’d like to see these two doppelgangers put aside their issues and become friends — we’ll even settle for acquaintances! Not only is Silas running rampant in Mystic Falls, but Julie Plec has teased that little ol’ Silas is the least of the gang’s worries. With even more big bads on the way, the Petrova doppelgangers are stronger together than apart. Katherine may be human now, but she’s still got her sharp wit. If there’s one person who can get inside a psycho’s head and figure out their game plan, it’s her. We’d like to see her work with the Scooby Gang this season, not against them.

The Vampire Diaries' Kat Graham Talks TVD Season 5

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Deleted Scene: Bonnie and Jeremy Before Prom (VIDEO)

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Casting Spoiler: Australian Hottie to Play Sexy Professor

Rick Cosnett Cast on Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries
Look out, Elena and Caroline, there’s a hot new professor on campus for Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries.
According to TV Guide, Nina Dobrev (Elena) and Candice Accola (Caroline) will be joined at Whitmore College by Australian newcomer Rick Cosnett, who will be playing Dr. Wes Maxfield, and he’s going to have it out for the two freshmen.

Dr. Maxfield is a brilliant, sexy, and somewhat cocky college professor, and he’s going to have the girls’ suspicions up as soon as they meet him. Of course they’re going to think that he’s got a super dark and mysterious secret — don’t all teachers in Mystic Falls?

Just look at the previous teachers they’ve had on the show. First there was Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) and then there was Professor Atticus Shane (David Alpay). While Alaric was in league with the young vamps — Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) specifically — he had secrets, though none as big and dark as Professor Shane.

So it definitely doesn’t sound like the girls will be hot for teacher, it looks like they’ll be hot on his trail.

'Vampire Diaries' season 5 scoop: Showrunner teases sexy Damon and Elena scenes

Vampire-Diaries.jpg
The Vampire Diaries may have wrapped up season 4 with some major cliffhangers, but you won’t see the immediate aftermath in the fall premiere.
“It’s a time jump,” exec producer Julie Plec tells EW. ”Summer has passed in which poor Stefan has been suffering at the bottom of the quarry and Damon and Elena have been having hot lovin’ sex.”
Though the premiere will pick up with move-in day at college (yes, they’re actually enrolling!), Plec promises fans will get to see some of the steamy action that went down over break.
“We found a stylized way to show the audience how things went over the summer, what everybody was up to,” says Plec, who reveals that the title of the episode is “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Keep reading for a breakdown of what’s coming up in season 5…

Damon and Elena
So, what’s ahead for these two besides all that hot lovin’? Plec, who recently said the duo will be happy this year, explains that Damon and Elena will face real-life relationship conflicts “in which one is keeping a secret from another trying not to hurt their feelings, trying to make them happy, little things that any normal couple would fight about and then hopefully make up over.” Adds Plec: “The biggest hurdles in their relationship come from external sources, people, ideas, notions that are trying to say they’re not supposed to be together. It’s really going to be more about them fighting to prove that they should be together and it’s okay.”
Human Katherine
After a summer of trying to take care of herself, Plec says that Katherine will turn up in Mystic Falls looking to a Salvatore for some assistance. “Certainly her determined presence in Mystic Falls and in the Salvatore house itself will definitely be a little bit of a sore spot,” says the showrunner, who teases that Katherine will become very attached to said Salvatore.
Stefan
Don’t expect Stefan to come out of the quarry unscathed. Plec hints that when he finally emerges from confinement, he’ll be both the same and drastically different. “There’s a little bit of a riddle attached to that which I can’t really expand on, but it’s going to be a fun ride for Paul Wesley to play as an actor,” teases Plec.
Klaus and Caroline
Klaus may be in New Orleans, but that doesn’t mean it’s over for him and Caroline. Plec says that there is a chance Caroline will turn up in the Big Easy. “I think that there are a lot of complicated elements that go into trying to make this happen, but I’ve talked about it with Candice and I’ve talked about it with Joseph. There’s a million logistics to work out and you never know, but it’s something we’d like to do and hope to do.”
College
Mystic Falls’ finest will be attending Whitmore College this fall — the same school where Jenna pursued her graduate degree and Grams and Shane were professors. “We definitely did not want to have it be the college down the block that all of a sudden out of nowhere there’s a Mystic Falls University, but we knew we had to keep them close enough to home so that they could come and go as they pleased with a little bit of a road trip,” explains Plec. Though the group will be separated, Plec promises that the core will stay intact. “It’s so fun because you have this whole fresh new story at college, in the midst of which Damon has to show up there to solve a problem or Elena has to rush home to solve a problem or Caroline comes home for a holiday, so I think that we will have conquered the college curse pretty well.”
Deaths
No season is complete without the demise of a major character, and this year is no exception. Says Plec: “I think we’ve got some juicy villains that need some vanquishing and there’s always a possibility that one of our beloved heroes will kick the bucket. When, who, or how, I’ll never tell, but it’s definitely in the
cards.”
Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries debuts Oct. 3.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Speculation: Will Bonnie Stay Dead?

Bonnie Bennett
The Vampire Diaries fans have been hearing stories of “the Other Side” ever since Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) started seeing his ex-girlfriends in Season 3. Now that he (once again) is back from the dead, it looks like the youngest Gilbert has another ghostly relationship on his hands.
After Bonnie (Kat Graham) sacrificed her life for Jeremy’s at the end of Season 4, fans mourned the loss of their favorite witch — until executive producer Julie Plec explained that Bonnie is still going to be a regular on the show. How is that, you ask? Well, let’s just say that her presence is, er, magical.
With Bonnie on the Other Side, we are as intrigued as anyone to see how she continues to interact with anyone other than Jeremy. And even if she and Jeremy continue to talk and be “together,” we have a feeling that the lack of physical touch will eventually put a damper on things. So, the question is, can Bonnie stay dead? What are our options here?
We know that Julie Plec mentioned that we’re going to get more of a look at the Other Side, which is exciting — here’s to hoping that means multiple Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) and Alaric (Matt Davis) cameos — but regardless, how long can Bonnie hover on the fringes before it becomes too hard to weave her into stories? Eventually, isn’t she either going ot have to come back to the land of the living or leave for good? Look, we would love for her to be able to stick around, but if Plec hasn’t found a way to keep Alaric around on the other side, we’re not sure there’s hope for anyone, magical or not.

Vampire Diaries Star Ian Somerhalder Admits To Loving On-Screen Relationship With Nina Dobrev

They may no longer be a couple off screen, but the new series of The Vampire Diaries will see Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's characters - Damon and Elena become closer. A Storyline that Ian has admitted to loving.
As the cast and crew continue to film the new season of the show, Ian spoke of what fans will see happen between Damon and Elena after she declared her love for him last season.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Ian commented: "He got the girl, at a great expense. It's gotta be so strange for this guy. He was so in love with Katherine for so many years, working off the naivety of a 23-year-old man."
Somerhalder, who has been linked to the role of Fifty Shades' Christian Grey, continued: "To be in love with this woman who really broke your heart, and then all of a sudden to find a woman who is identical in every way, shape and form, who is 160 years his junior."

The actor who is believed to have split from Nina earlier this year, added: "What I love about [their relationship this season] is that it's something the audience has really been wanting to see for a long time.
"But bear in mind that this is The Vampire Diaries, so people being happy for long doesn't exist."
Whilst Ian might be happy with his character's romance with Elena, the actor recently admitted his fears that TVD's spin-off show The Originals could take actors away from the show.
"I'm excited for Julie [Plec], and for Joseph and all my people, but I'm a selfish actor - I'm not a producer on the show, I'm not a writer. My only concern is Damon, and my show,” Digital Spy reports him as saying recently.
“Now, they're going to be taking these characters that mean so much to our show. I'm insanely happy for everyone, but I'm not thrilled. Not that I mind sharing, I just don't want to lose all these amazing actors on our show."
The Originals debuts this October and focuses on the Mikaelson siblings Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah.
Pondering whether the cast on TVD could change, Ian continued to comment: "Who are the other people who are gonna be coming on the show? Are they gonna be good? Because it's The CW, and everyone has to be pretty, and there aren't a lot of pretty people that can act well.
"I'm not joking! I'm one of them, that can act well. Not to sound s**tty about it, but casting is always tough. I feel like they worked so hard on casting this show... and hopefully they just continue to put great actors in."

"With the IS Foundation, we have the ability to speak to young people and empower people in a collaborative spirit," Ian said. "Activate them, educate them. And all of a sudden, now, you have this army of empowered activated young people who are compassionate, going out into the world and spreading all of this. And literally, adopting a more holistic framework about life." He then went on to describe the youth of the world as an underutilized factor of society, especially since they are the future.
